Basic functions and Scope of Responsibilities
This positions will be based at Preah Sihanouk Campus
The responsibility of the School Principal is to develop and implement policies, programs, and curriculum activities in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.
- Plans and implements school maintenance for all campuses.
- Establishes and promotes WIS standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance.
- Manages, evaluates and supervises effective and clear procedures to follow WIS mission, values and goals of the school including instructional programs, extracurricular activities, and discipline systems to ensure a safe and orderly climate, building maintenance, program evaluation, personnel management, office operations, and emergency procedures.
- Makes plans for the school improvements.
- Supervises coordinator, admin assistant(s), registrar’s assistant(s), teachers, teacher assistants and all junior staff (guards, cook, janitors...) and all students of the campus.
- Solves any concerned conflicts internally and externally.
- Liaises with the local authorities.
- Holds parent-teacher conferences.
- Holds meetings once a month for school improvement.
- May recruit or terminate staff and teachers after consulting with immediate supervisors (VP for Administration & VP for Academics).
- Provides counsel and guidance to students regarding academic, personal or behavioural issues, along with enforcing attendance and discipline rules.
- Assists in teacher evaluations and classroom supervision.
- Has good relations with dept. heads and other directors.
- Reports to the immediate supervisors what has been decided or has happened in the campus.

The Vice President of Academic Affairs is crucial in leading and managing the Academic Department. This role involves planning, developing, and ensuring the effective operation of all academic areas. This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of the curriculum, managing academic staff, developing academic activities in alignment with institutional objectives, and ensuring alignment with global educational standards. It demands robust leadership and organizational skills to provide strategic direction and foster an innovative learning environment.
- Curriculum Oversight
- Develop and oversee the entire curriculum, ensuring local and global relevance and excellence.
- Integrate national and international educational practices and standards.
- Lead the school in obtaining accreditation from recognized international educational agencies while ensuring adherence to their standards and continual educational excellence.
- Department Leadership
- Provide strategic direction for the academic department.
- Promote an environment conducive to educational innovation and excellence.
- Overall Supervision
- Direct supervision of academic staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to standards.

- Formulate and revise academic policies and procedures.

- Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and stock inventory.

- JOB QUALIFICATION
- Education: Master’s Degree or higher in Education or a related field, with a preference for a doctoral degree.
- Experience in Academic Leadership: Proven track record in leading academic departments or programs, particularly in an international school setting.
- Curriculum Development Skills: Expertise in designing and implementing a diverse, globally-relevant curriculum.
- Leadership and Management Abilities: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop academic staff.
- Strategic Planning and Organizational Skills: Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and organization within an academic context.
