School Director
Position Summary Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
As School Director, you will hold full operational responsibility for the Smiling Gecko Education Campus. You will lead and inspire a multicultural team of Cambodian and international educators, implement a high-quality and child-centred curriculum, and collaborate closely with internal and external education experts and advisors both locally and internationally.
Employment will be with Smiling Gecko Cambodia.

- Provide strategic and academic leadership to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.

- Oversee curriculum development, teacher training, and student well-being.
- Strengthen community engagement and collaboration with Smiling Gecko’s holistic programs.
- Lead and inspire a multicultural team of educators and staff.
- Represent the school to partners, donors, and the broader community.
- Oversee school operations, budgeting, HR planning, and organisational development
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for students and staff
- University degree in education or related field; postgraduate qualification in school leadership is a plus
- Has proven experience in school leadership and management.
- Demonstrates a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and child development.
- Brings expertise in curriculum design, bilingual or international education is a plus.
- Possesses excellent communication, intercultural, and organizational skills.
- Shares Smiling Gecko’s vision of sustainable rural development through education.
- Strong intercultural communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to quality education, child development, and sustainable development goals
- Excellent command of English (Khmer is an advantage)
- Willingness to live and work long-term in rural Cambodia
