School Coordinator

Position Summary

Reports to: Head of School

Location: NIRA International School, Phnom Penh

The School Coordinator works closely with the Head of School to support the smooth running of operations and academic initiatives. The role helps ensure effective communication across departments and consistency in applying the Cambridge curriculum. Key responsibilities include contributing to curriculum alignment, assessments, accreditations, and the coordination of school activities and community events.

Working Hours and Conditions

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for school events.
  • Salary and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Academic Coordination
  • Support teachers in aligning lesson planning and delivery with the Cambridge Pathway.
  • Monitor schemes of work, pacing, and the use of Cambridge resources to ensure they are applied correctly and consistently, providing feedback for improvement.
  • Support lesson observations, including scheduling, documentation, and providing feedback under the guidance of the Head of School.
  • Coordinate Cambridge assessments (Progression Tests, Checkpoint, IGCSEs) and reporting.
  • Promote NIRA Lifelong Learner Attributes across classrooms.
  • Administrative Coordination
  • Coordinate the preparation and maintenance of documentation for school accreditations, safeguarding, and compliance processes, ensuring standards are met and evidence is kept up to date.
  • Maintain central records (e.g., assessment data, staff training, compliance logs) to support accreditation reviews and leadership reporting.
  • Prepare reports and meeting notes to support leadership decision-making.
  • Track project, assessment, and initiative timelines to ensure milestones are met.
  • Community, Staff and Events Support
  • Assist with staff onboarding, including orientation to Cambridge curriculum expectations.
  • Coordinate professional development activities and encourage a culture of reflection and innovation in line with Cambridge values.
  • Support the planning and coordination of school events, trips, and enrichment activities, including competitions, Olympiads, and community involvement, to ensure they reflect school values, build skills, strengthen partnerships, and showcase student achievement.
  • Support student leaders and the Student Affairs Ambassador in carrying out activities that reflect school values.
  • Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding requirements are considered during all activities.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in school administration, coordination, or academic support.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge curriculum frameworks and assessment practices.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with Cambridge digital platforms is an advantage.
