Sales Application Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Promote and sell SMC’s full range of automation products and solutions (pneumatics, electric actuators, instrumentation, vacuum, etc.).
- Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to engineering teams and procurement professionals.
- Understand customer applications and provide expert advice on product selection, design, and implementation.
- Work closely with internal engineering, product, and support teams to meet customer needs.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals, and contracts.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and territory growth objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor products, and market dynamics.
- Document all activities and opportunities in the company CRM system.
- Attend trade shows, training sessions, and customer visits as required.
- Develop and maintain relationships with multiple authorized dealers within the assigned territory.
- Support dealers in achieving sales targets through product knowledge, joint visits, and commercial support.
- Conduct regular business reviews with dealers to assess performance, pipeline, and market opportunities.
- Ensure brand consistency and compliance with SMC policies across all dealer activities.
- Gather and assess competitive information
- Devise a counter strategy to compete and secure conversion orders when opportunities present themselves
- Implement inventory management in collaboration with dealers and distributors
- Oversee, establish, and regulate the pricing matrix from dealers/distributors to customers
