Job Summary

The safety & security manager is primarily responsible for overseeing the hotel security and safety functions for employees and guests and safeguards the assets of the hotel. You will be responsible for strategic planning, organizing, communications, and interface with management, employees and guests in every way that is consistent with the protection and prevention objectives. Position includes responding in law enforcement, supervising of security team members and assistance with scheduling and personnel issues.

Duties
  • Reports directly to the General Manager and assists in the implementation of the hotel policies and procedures.
  • Assists the General Manager in directing, administering and supervising, planning, coordinating and participating in the activities of the Safety and Security Department engaged in the implementation of the Hotel’s safety and security procedures.
  • Conforms to and enforce policies and procedures & rules and regulations as laid down by Novotel in order to achieve the highest levels of uniformity and guest service.
  • Be responsible for the safety and security of guests, employees and the hotel assets.
  • Maintains cooperation with the police and fire authorities and give assistance in the handling of crimes, accidents and emergencies involving the hotel, its staff or its guests.
  • Prepares annual security goals, develops working methods and plans to carry out goals, compares actual accomplishments against goals periodically and takes necessary corrective action.
  • Ensures that all the safety & security staff are fully conversant with the operation of all fire equipment’s in the hotel, that such equipment is fully utilized.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the hotel’s Security Programs with the Department Heads.
  • Assists the General Manager to conduct and review periodic Risk Assessments in accordance to Workplace Safety & Health Act and maintain proper records.
  • Conducts monthly Workplace Safety & Security and Health (WSSH) meetings with the respective department representatives and to submit Minutes of Meeting to General Manager, and Talent & Culture Director.
  • Assists daily operations at the driveway / lobby when necessary.

  • Level of Education Vocational education
  • Professional experiences 2 to 3 years
  • Languages essential English

  • To be successful in the Safety & Security position you will have to possess the following qualities:
  • At least 2-3years experience in a similar capacity or/and the hospitality industry
  • Proficient in MS Office application & Outlook
  • Service-oriented with strong desire in achieving total customer and staff satisfactions
  • Ability to adapt to changes
  • Ability to take quick and accurate decision
  • Willing to work shifts during weekends and public holidays

The assistant safety & security manager is primarily responsible for overseeing the hotel security and safety functions for employees and guests and safeguards the assets of the hotel. You will be responsible for strategic planning, organizing, communications, and interface with management, employees and guests in every way that is consistent with the protection and prevention objectives. Position includes responding in law enforcement, supervising of security team members and assistance with scheduling and personnel issues. You’re reporting direct to the safety and security manager.

Duties
  • Proficiency with security equipment software such as CCTV etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of security threats and the available protective systems.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team when needed.
  • Conducts weekly inspections of security lighting, door access systems, fire alarms and all secure entrances and doors within the building.
  • Able to work night and weekend shifts as necessary.
  • Creates and conducts safety and security training sessions for employees.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing with members of management, law enforcement, customers, employees and government agencies as required.
  • Initiates and performs security investigations throughout company building, and accurately report findings to management.
Requirements
  • Strong communication and language skills, including the ability to clearly communicate with customers and employees at every level. Will regularly correspond via verbal communication and letters, emails, memos with regulatory agencies, law enforcement, visitors, management, and staffs.
  • Computer skills, including the use of Microsoft programs (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and aspects of security governance.
  • Proven leadership skills that will motivate the security team and company employees to a high level of understanding regarding various safety precautions.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate meetings, investigations and safety/security functions hotel-wide.
  • Administrative skills.
