Reserve/Substitute Teacher - Candidate Pool (French or English)
Position Summary Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
The substitute teacher is required to teach a class or more when the homeroom teacher is absent or unavailable.
- Complete the lesson plan provided by the homeroom teacher
- Create lessons and learning environments that are safe, respectful, and interesting as well as multicultural/gender and ability fair/developmentally appropriate. Select, adapt and individualize materials appropriate for diverse student populations and skill levels.
- Teach students the required curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving
- Supervise students at all times
- Enforce the rules of the school and classroom
- Straighten the classroom at the end of the assignment
- Collaborate with the other team members
- Report to the homeroom teacher about student behavior and progress
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Native French or English speaker
- A good mastery of new technologies and teaching applications is desirable
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in the international environment
