Research Consultant – Agri-Input Distribution Models and Impact Pathways under the KAF Program

Impact Hub Phnom Penh is seeking a qualified research consultant to conduct a qualitative, case-based study on the distribution models and impact pathways of selected agri-input providers supported by the Khmer Agriculture for the Future (KAF) Program (2023–2026).
Location: Cambodia, with field visits in Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, and/or Preah Vihear (flexible hybrid arrangement for desk research and reporting).
Budget: Up to USD 6,000 (inclusive of VAT or WHT and all expenses)
Scope of Work
The consultant will lead the research design, data collection, and analysis, under the guidance of Impact Hub Phnom Penh’s Research Specialist with input from KAF program implementing team.

- KsSeed (affordable seed packets) – headquarter in Phnom Penh ○ Larano (tractors) – headquarter in Phnom Penh
- Tasey Samaki Agriculture Cooperative (net houses) – headquarter in Battambang

- Required:
- Advanced degree in economics, development studies, agribusiness, or related field. 5 years of experience in the agribusiness industry could be a substitute.
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in applied qualitative research, preferably in agriculture or rural development.
- Proven experience and knowledge about agribusinesses and/or agricultural cooperatives/unions
- Strong analytical and writing skills; ability to synthesize complex findings into actionable insights.
- Fluency in English and Khmer (spoken and written).
- Nice to have:
- Knowledge of climate-resilient agriculture and Cambodian agricultural value chains.
- Proven experience in designing and conducting field-based studies with smallholder farmers.
- Familiarity with donor-funded programs and evaluation approaches.
- Sensitivity to gender and inclusion in research design
