SCOPE of WORK
The scope of a security guard encompasses a wide range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring safety, maintaining order, and protecting people, property, and information. The specific scope of their duties often depends on the nature of their deployment, the environment they are assigned to, and the client's requirements. Below are the key areas within the scope of security guard services:
- Monitor and manage entry and exit points to ensure only authorized personnel and visitors enter.
- Verifying identification and issuing visitor passes.
- Maintain a visitor logbook (name, organization, purpose, time in/out, person visited).
- Guiding visitors and providing directions or information when needed.
- Conduct regular patrols to ensure all areas are secure.
- Safeguarding office equipment, documents, and other valuables from theft or damage.
- Acting swiftly during emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches.
- Assisting in evacuation procedures and coordinating with emergency services.
- Handling disputes or disturbances among staff, visitors, or contractors.
- Ensuring a peaceful and safe environment within the office premises.
- Documenting and reporting any irregularities, incidents, or security breaches to management.
- Inspecting security equipment and ensuring doors, windows, and locks are secure.
- Ensure staff and visitors follow office rules and regulations.
- Arrange and manage parking areas to keep traffic organized and prevent blockage.
- Guide staff and visitors to the designated smoking area and ensure no smoking in restricted zones.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with staff and visitors.

Eligibility
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- A security guard should have a high school, a valid security license, good physical and mental fitness, strong observation and communication skills, and, for some roles, prior experience and additional certifications like first aid or firearm training.
- A security guard uniform typically includes a collared shirt with badges, durable trousers, comfortable shoes, a cap with an emblem, and a utility belt for carrying essential tools like a flashlight and radio, ensuring professionalism and easy identification.
