Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) is a local Non-Government Organization based in Ratanakiri province, North-East of Cambodia. Since we established in 1996, we have played a critical role in helping indigenous people to secure their rights to land and natural resources. We also recognize the vital importance of preserving the cultural heritage of indigenous peoples, often inextricably linked with their lands and forests. NTFP was registered with the Ministry of Interior (MoI) of the Royal Government of Kingdom of Cambodia in March 2007. NTFP is operating at 3 provinces, Ratanakiri is main based office, Preah Vihear and Stung Treng province.

The project “Contribute to project of Supporting Indigenous Communities of Ratanakiri province to secure their rights to land and contribute to their improved food and nutrition security” is one of the other projects of NTFP under the program of Livelihood and Agricultures. The project has obtained the funding support from World Renew.

Currently, Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) seeks a consultancy to conduct the rapid assessment of community saving group.

Position Summary

Objective of Assessment

The rapid of assessment aims to understand the current situation of saving groups capacities on save, lend, return, strengths, vision, needs and sustainably strategic development of the village saving group.

Scope of work

The scope of research was conducted only 10 community saving group selected out of 23 community saving group that based on some criterial as mentioned such as strong, weak and not function group…etc.

Duration and Timeline

The consultancy is expected to be completed within 30 working days from the date of contract signing.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent
  • English - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate Degree in Rural Development, Community Development, or related field
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of: Conducting assessments, evaluations, or research, Community saving groups, Livelihood and rural development initiatives
  • Experience working with NGOs or international organizations
  • Excellent report writing skills in English (Khmer is an asset)
