Job Summary
The Public Policy arm of Belt Road Capital Management is primarily involved with drafting white paper public policies that are favorable to our firm’s strategic goals, and strategically advocating these policies to the relevant government bodies. These policies include capital market development, transparency in financial regulation, and sustainable growth of markets in Cambodia. To this end, the position holder will research and support evidence-based public policy proposals, execution, and implementation.
- Conduct macroeconomic research across a wide range of subject areas, using quantitative and qualitative information to make informed recommendations to further the IFCC’s development and interests
- Investigate public policies impacting macroeconomic forces and financial markets
- Assess qualitatively the potential effects of proposed tax and non-tax incentives on GDP growth, unemployment rate, tourism revenue, and other relevant economic metrics
- Draft white paper proposals for government agencies to initiate, develop and execute new programs which further the IFCC’s development and interests
- Monitor and analyze Cambodian domestic public policy regulations and communiques
- Conduct benchmarking exercises with other international financial centers (IFCs) and countries on international best practices for developing and governing IFCs
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of government policies, regulatory changes, and international trade agreements on the IFCC project’s international relevance and competitiveness, especially in Cambodia and Southeast Asia.
- Support cross-team projects to further the IFCC’s development and interests
- Support BRCM and partners at industry conferences, webinars, and thought leadership events, positioning the firm as a leader in macroeconomic strategy within the private equity space.
- Support and work closely with other internal teams (e.g. Market Research, Macroeconomic teams) to co-develop proposals, conduct ad-hoc research and prepare stakeholder update materials
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Economics, Public Policy, Finance, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in public policy, economics, research or a consultancy role
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information
- Excellent writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technically trained stakeholders
- Ability to analyze quantitative data and apply critical perspectives across diverse policy issues to support economic analyses and policy advice
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex economic concepts into actionable insights.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Good command of written and spoken English, fluency in business Chinese is advantageous
Advisory Analyst

Job Summary
The role is a versatile position focused on supporting a wide range of strategic activities, including strategic planning, M&A, and working closely with the senior members of the Advisory Department to assess, plan and execute business/ investment opportunities in the Sub-Mekong region, across a variety of sectors including more traditional industries and the cutting edge and innovative sectors. This role will require the candidate to process industry specific policies and special economic zone policies in Cambodia to position the new business/ investment to capitalize on the market opportunity. The candidate will be stationed in Cambodia.
- Transactional and screening of investment opportunities from the CEOO and senior members of the advisory department.
- Profiling the investment/ partnership target, specific business opportunity and potential business potential.
- Performing comprehensive and in-depth company and industry research, and peer benchmarking.
- Develop an initial business plan and initial action plan to execute the deal/ pilot.
- Developing and documenting transaction rationale, including preparation and presentation of all Information Memorandum and presentation materials.
- Study industry specific trends and policies to ensure that the new business/ investment is able to capture the market opportunity.
- Developing financial models, execute commercial due diligence and executing transaction recommendations.
- Work with the senior members of the team to manage multiple projects, including the operationalization of specific projects
- Work on the conversion of initial pilots into full-fledged business units
- Bachelor’s Degree or Masters/MBA from a top-tier university. Desire to pursue a career in Corporate Finance/ M&A/ Private Equity.
- 1 to 2 Years of Experience at a reputable Firm will be advantageous.
- Fluent in English is a must, bilingual in English and Chinese languages is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting; excellent analytical / modeling skills.
- ‘Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, excellent technical skills, confident presentation ability, and an inquisitive mind.
- Overall familiarity with the private equity industry and knowledge of various strategies would be a significant enhancement.
