The Ministry of Health (MOH) and its partners launched the Health Equity and Quality Improvement project H-EQIP in 2016 with the aim to improve performance and quality of health services for targeted population groups and to protect them against health-spending induced impoverishment. H-EQIP responds to the aspirations of the Royal Government to improve performance of public sector services, namely the Policy on Public Service Delivery and the Health Strategic Plan-3 (2016-2020) and builds on the achievements made in previous health sector programs.

Staff at the Quality Assurance Office (QAO) are engaged in the improvement of quality assessment scores and technical competencies of health facilities and the functioning of an ICT system for conducting quality assessments.
