Objective
- Improve basic skills and knowledge that can be used to support people who are in distress and to help people cope in a difficult situation.
- Enhance participants knowledge on active listening and effective communication skills to bolster their efficacy as well-being supporters.
- Improve participants knowledge on stress management and self-care techniques tailored for organizational settings, alongside guidance on time management and effective work practices to ensure that participants can provide self-care session to staff of their organisation.
- Equip participants with a toolkit of strategies for nurturing mental health and wellbeing, encompassing stress, anxiety, depression, and addressing suicidal ideation. .
Timeframe and Duration
The consultancy activities are scheduled to take place in 2026 and 2027. There will be two training sessions, both occurring in the first quarter: one in 2026 and the other in 2027. These training courses will be held either in Phnom Penh or in the provinces, accommodating up to 25 participants for each session. Detail schedule will be shared based on request.
Location of Assignment
This assignment will take place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and training sessions will be done in person at DCA office depending on the availability of the consultant/participants’ preference.
- The Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Develop training material on Psychological First Aid and techniques to cope with distressing situations, stress, anxiety, and depression.
- Lead and facilitate two 2-day interactive training sessions to enhance well-being supporters understanding of psychological first aid and related techniques.
- Write and submit a training report with participants’ feedback, lessons learned, and recommendations.
- Deliverables The Consultant will provide the following:
- Prepare training plan and materials, including presentations, handouts, and case studies…etc.
- Lead and facilitate the two 2-day training sessions.
- Prepare training resource package (digital copy) for participants. Prepare pre & post training tests and evaluate the training effectiveness.
- Khmer - Fluent
- Work experience in mental health, psychosocial support, and counselling is required for this position for 5 years as a minimum
- The ideal candidate or consulting team members must hold at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as psychology, clinical psychology, counselling, public health, or mental health. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced degrees such as a master's or doctoral degree in clinical psychology and counselling psychology or a related field.
- Additional certification in psychology support, mental health emergency response, and trauma-informed care is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting interactive, participant-centered training sessions or workshops is essential, particularly in areas such as active listening, effective communication, stress management, psychosocial first aid (PFA), and mental health emergency response.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively convey complex concepts and engage participants during training sessions.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of PFA principles and trauma informed care.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with organizations in the field of human rights who demonstrate a strong understanding of the nuanced challenges of working in the sector.
- Fluency in Khmer language and based in Cambodia.
Consultancy Self-Care and Wellbeing

Objectives:
- Enhanced DCA and partners’ staff with skills, knowledge, and tips/techniques to improve self-care.
- Increased understanding among DCA and partners’ staff about self-care principles and the application of toolkits to promote wellbeing in the workplace.
Deliverables
- Design comprehensive training material for the two-day training focusing on key self-care and wellbeing topics.
- Create pre- and post-training assessments to gauge the effectiveness of the training session.
- Implement training evaluation after training to gather feedback and improve future training programs.
- Conduct three two-day trainings sessions for groups of 20-25 participants, utilizing interactive teaching methodologies in Khmer.
- Prepare supplementary materials based on the training topics for ongoing learning of participants after the training sessions.
Reporting
The consultant will be responsible for producing a comprehensive written training report of the three 2-day trainings summarizing the key result of the training with some recommendations for future improvement. The report will be submitted to DCA after the training activity.
Scope of Services
- The consultancy activity will take place from 2026 to 2027. The tentative schedule for the three two-day training sessions will be shared in detail in TOR.
- The consultancy proposal should encompass the following components:
- A detailed outline of the approach to collaboration with DCA, demonstrating a clear understanding of the organization's objectives and requirements.
- Recommendations and a concise overview of proposed tools, strategies, and topics to be incorporated into the training sessions, aligning closely with the identified needs and objectives.
- A comprehensive consultancy budget outlining all anticipated expenses related to the project (both main activities).
- An overview of the applicant's relevant experience and past consultations, including details on scope, stakeholders involved, and the content of previous projects.
- Submission of a sample training agenda focusing on wellbeing, showcasing the applicant's ability to develop and facilitate effective training sessions in line with the project's goals and objectives.

- Work experience in self-care training, wellness coaching, mental health support, or employee wellbeing programmes for 5 years as a minimum
- The ideal candidate or consulting team members must hold at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as psychology, health sciences, social work, public health, or related fields. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced degrees such as a master's or doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, or health sciences.
- Certifications in health coaching, mindfulness, stress management, and wellness training.
- Demonstrated expertise in stress management, burnout prevention, mindfulness, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
- The candidate must have the proven skills to provide analyse the mental health and self-care needs of organizations and/or individuals and provide training and capacity development support to a wide range of people with vary level of understanding of and experience in selfcare and wellbeing.
