Position Summary

Join the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation organization as Protected Area and Law Enforcement (PALE) Thematic Manager based in Kratie Province, Cambodia, and together we can conserve our country’s rich biological diversity, through sustainable use of natural resources, and promote new opportunities for the benefit of all people, enhancing local livelihoods and contributing to poverty reduction in the Kingdom of Cambodia

The PALE Thematic Manager will be responsible for supervising and managing the overall law enforcement activities supported by WWF in the MFF landscape in close consultation with the Head of MFF Landscape based on tailored responses to specific threats including illegal fishing, illegal hunting and snaring of wildlife, illegal logging, illegal deforestation and land encroachment, illegal mining, etc.

The PALE Thematic Manager is responsible for supporting and leading the thematic team by working closely with related WWF thematic leads and technical advisors at landscape, national, regional, and global levels, as well as with partners at all levels. As such, the PALE Thematic Manager is part of WWF’s Landscape Management Team for the MFF Landscape to ensure that PALE interventions are coordinated with wildlife conservation priorities, involve inclusive community participation, and inform broader spatial planning in the landscape.

The PALE Thematic Manager may also assume the management responsibilities for specific projects that include a significant amount of support for PALE activities but will coordinate with other thematic leads on the delivery of other outputs in other thematic areas without direct line management, but with budget management authority and reporting responsibilities.
