Announcement Description

Building Action for Integration and Development Engagement (BAIDE) is looking for a motivated Project Officer to support the implementation of the SmartAgriCambodia project, focusing on precision agriculture, digital mapping, and animal feed production in Northwest Cambodia.

Project Overview

The SmartAgriCambodia project introduces modern agricultural technologies such as digital field mapping, NDVI analysis, and precision agriculture tools, while also supporting the development of medium-scale feed production systems for farmers and agricultural cooperatives. The goal of the project is to improve yields while reducing agricultural inputs through more precise and data-driven farming practices in Battambang Province.

BAIDE is responsible for the field implementation and coordination of project activities for the Czech University of Life Sciences, ensuring effective cooperation between international experts and local stakeholders.

The project works closely with Cambodian institutions such as the National University of Battambang (NUBB), Battambang Institute of Technology (BIT), the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PDAFF), agricultural cooperatives, and international experts to improve agricultural productivity and digital skills in rural areas.

Position Summary

The position is for SmartAgriCambodia Project

Expected start date: 1 May 2026 (negotiable).

The position will be contracted under Lutheran Hope Cambodia Organization (LHCO), which serves as the local implementing partner of the project.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the (technical) implementation of project activities in Battambang Province
  • Assist and accompany foreign experts during trainings and field activities
  • Provide translation and explanation of local agricultural context
  • Support technical field work and coordination with local stakeholders
  • Assist in organizing trainings and demonstrations for farmers and agricultural cooperatives
  • Participate in field visits across Battambang Province and occasional trips, conferences to Phnom Penh
  • Support project communication and documentation, including photos, short reports, and social media updates about project activities

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Good
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Environmental Science, Agribusiness, Social Sciences, or other relevant field
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Good spoken English and ability to communicate with international experts during field activities and trainings
  • Valid Cambodian driving license for car and ability to drive project vehicles during field activities
  • Ability to drive a motorbike and travel frequently
Soft Skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
