Project Officer
Role Purpose
The Child Rights Governance Project Officer overall responsibility is to provide ongoing support and monitoring work closely with project partners, including providing technical support, planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, reporting for quality delivery of the programme and in compliance with Save the Children’s policies and donors’ requirements in the target provinces to deliver effective and efficient outcomes for marginalized and disadvantaged children.
The Project Officer is responsible for strengthening capacity, coaching, mentoring, and working in close collaboration with Provincial teams, Child Protection and Child Rights Governance (CP&CRG) project coordinator/officer, CRG Project Manager, CP/CRG Specialist, MEAL team, Provincial, District, Commune Authorities, school directors, teachers and relevant stakeholders for promoting child rights included rights of the children with diverse Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Sexual Characteristic (SOGIESC) both national and sub-national level.
The Project Officer is responsible for mainstreaming and implementing crosscutting themes including gender, resilience, disability and child safeguarding throughout the project cycle.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Contract length: Unspecified Duration Contract (UDC).
- Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Social Sciences, law, Development Studies, Human Rights, Legal Studies or any other relevant field. Extensive and substantive relevant practical experience may be considered in place of a degree

- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience in development, the field of CP&CRG, Capacity building and coaching, managing partnership, advocacy, preferably in children's rights, SOGIESC/LGBT
- Sound understanding of child rights, Gender, SOGIESC, LGBT, reporting, good governance, social accountability and relevant policies.
- Sound understanding of and experience working with government ministries and coordinating bodies at national and sub-national levels.
- Strong in conceptualization and critical thinking
- Strong teamwork, coordination, networking, and advocacy
- Good understanding of child rights and child participation concepts and approaches.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills will be considered a definite advantage
- Ability and willingness to travel to all parts of the country.
- Excellent written and communication skills in English
- Willingness to abide by Save the Children International Child Safeguarding policy and Code of Conduct.
