Position Summary

FIDR has been formulating a new project following the plan below. This position will serve as a project member.

Focal issue: Hygiene Improvement and Nutrition Education

Overall Goal: Develop a clean and sanitary environment to improve community health and sustainability.

Project Purpose: Improve waste management in the target community through waste reduction and separation practices

Project Outcomes:

  • Establish a new school-centered project involving surrounding villages.
  • Health education with cooking classes is fully implemented in target schools.

Project Site: Phnom Penh and Srei Santhor District, Kampong Cham Province (TBC)

Start Date: May 2026

This Project Facilitator position will support the implementation of the activities below in developing a new project.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Training & Capacity Building Activities
  • Prepare training materials and coordinate the training schedule with counterparts.
  • Support and facilitate training sessions and workshops on nutrition, food safety, hygiene practices, and waste management.
  • Assist in delivering capacity-building activities tailored to target groups.
  • Community Outreach & Promotion
  • Facilitate promotional activities within target communities, including waste management and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) awareness campaigns.
  • Support nutrition education initiatives, including Food-Based Dietary Guidelines (FBDG) promotion.
  • Assist in implementing promotion implementing activities at target schools and monitor their progress and ownership.
  • Research, Data Collection & Analysis
  • Support household-level observations to assess waste management and hygiene practices.
  • Assist in data collection, management, and basic analysis under guidance from a nutrition specialist.
  • Contribute to waste analysis studies to evaluate community conditions and identify potential solutions in collaboration with partner organizations.
  • Communication, Documentation & Media Creation
  • Assist in preparing activity reports, operational plans, meeting minutes, official letters, and PR articles (English and/or Khmer)
  • Support the production of promotional materials, including videos for project visibility and fundraising.
  • Translate documents between English and Khmer, and provide interpretation support when needed.
  • Coordination & Partnership Support
  • Support the facilitation of meetings, trainings, and project-related events.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between the organization, project counterparts, and relevant stakeholders.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Good
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in health, education, environment, or other majors related to social/community development.
Work History:
  • At least work experience in development projects (Preferably in the health-related field, survey and data analysis, training, education, or environment-related field, or community development) for 2 years
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Strong interests in environment, nutrition, and health promotion.
  • Excellent command of written and oral English, enough to communicate with expatriates.
  • Computer literacy with competence in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Zoom, Google Meet, Canva etc.
Soft Skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creative and flexible person who can work well under pressure and perform multiple tasks.
  • High commitment to work as NGO staff.
