Programs Director
Location: Phnom Penh [regular travel to the provinces (3-5 days/ month) and regular overseas travel to Canada and the region (1-2 times/ year)]
Schedule: 40 hours/ week
Salary: Starting salary $3395, plus other benefits
Job purpose: To improve the quality of services for trafficking survivors through overseeing the quality, development and delivery of existing Ratanak programs
Job brief: The Programs Director is responsible for the maintaining the quality of client services in Ratanak projects, encouraging consistent and client-centered decisions. This involves monitoring the way client and operational procedures are implemented in practice and ensuring staff have the resources, tools and support they need to carry out their roles. The role requires extensive coordination with all internal teams and other service providers.
- Oversee the delivery of established Ratanak projects, managing staff, budgets and reporting associated with the projects.
- Manage the quality of client care provided by projects through ensuring monitoring and follow through of procedural and operational guidelines by staff.
- Identify and address individual client and systematic issues in project delivery, finding effective and timely resolutions and taking action to resolve problems and prevent their repetition.
- Ensure project staff have the tools they need to deliver client services effectively, monitoring and reporting back on logistical, financial, HR and systems support, making recommendations for change where needed.
- Oversee staff development, ensuring that learning plans address internal standards and meet national social work criteria.
- Share learning and evidence-base both within the project teams, across the organization and where relevant to national forums and consultations.
- Develop and maintain supportive, open relationships with relevant government bodies and other organizations working in the same field.
- Represent the organization to external partners and government at senior level, managing speaking engagements and communication for public events in relevant areas of expertise.
- Ensure the provision of required information for the production of internal and external reports regularly in line with agreed standards and timelines, and approve these reports prior to submission.
- Ensure that all personal ways of working and those of the team are consistent with the values and culture expected within the organisation.
- Oversee and attend relevant team meetings to ensure excellent communication across all staff.
- Contribute actively to the leadership and development of the Ratanak senior management team.
- Attend and contribute actively to the Ratanak senior leadership team, communicating the needs of clients and project staff and supporting evidence-based strategic decisions.
- Conduct ongoing research and learning and engage in personal development to ensure a comprehensive knowledge of key issues related to Ratanak’s strategy and best practice in caring for survivors of trauma and those who have experienced exploitation.
- Essential:
- Degree and/or post-graduate qualification in social work, psychology or other relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of good social work and case management practice, including working with trauma survivors
- At least 5 years experience in program management in a relevant sector, including at least 2 years in the trafficking sector.
- Fluent in English (equivalent to IELTS Level 6 or above)
- Experience of using MS Office suite of programs to communicate and manage information effectively in a range of contexts.
- At least 3 years of active membership in a church community.
