SCOPE OF WORK & DESIRED OUTCOMES:
Kids Play International seeks a field-based Program Operations Assistant in Cambodia to support the effective implementation and evaluation of sport-for-development programs in a rural community setting. This role focuses on strengthening program operations, data systems, and overall impact related to gender equity and mental well-being.
The Assistant will be responsible for managing data collection, entry, and analysis; maintaining accurate program records; and supporting reporting requirements. They will also contribute to day-to-day program coordination, assist in monitoring program quality, and support communication with staff, partners, and community stakeholders.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong proficiency in Google Suite and data management tools, with experience in data entry and analysis. They are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. A clear understanding of how sport can be used to promote gender equity and mental wellness, and to challenge harmful socio-cultural norms, is essential.
- Operations & Administration
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Operations Manager, managing tasks, scheduling, and follow-ups.
- Communicate with local suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
- Maintain organised filing systems (physical and digital) for programme documents and correspondence.
- Provide logistical support for field activities, procurement, and events
- Assist with financial administration: payments, expenditure tracking, petty cash reconciliation, and expense reporting.
- Monitor budget lines and liaise with suppliers on invoicing and payment confirmation.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
- Attend Let’s Play Fair and Play Fair Community Day programming as needed, and complete observation reports for all sessions attended.
- Collect and organize program attendance, school attendance, school grades, exam scores on a regular basis.
- Conduct surveys, observations and focus group discussions as they pertain to the monitoring and evaluation of activities outlined in awarded grant funding.
- Assist in drafting weekly and quarterly internal reports and assist with external grant reports pertaining to the specific grant deliverables outlined for Let’s Play Fair, Play Fair Community Day and Play Fair Expansion programs.
- Ensure all programs are completed within the allotted time frame and are in-line with the organizational policies and procedures.
- Implement monitoring, evaluation and learning activities as outlined in awarded grant funding.
- Programs Support
- Manage the evaluation of the Let’s Play Fair and Play Fair Community Day programs on a weekly basis through attendance tracking; management of data collection and entry; and ensuring a consistent and effective observation/feedback cycle.
- Support coach capacity training sessions for the Let’s Play Fair program, with a strong focus on building all coaches’ confidence and mastery around Kids Play International’s data collection activities.
- Support in the planning and execution of Play Fair Community Days
- Oversee the management of all program databases, including accurate player and staff demographic information and attendance.
- Child Protection and Safeguarding
- A strong commitment to child protection and safeguarding, ensuring all staff members understand and abide by Kids Play International’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure all staff understand Kids Play International’s reporting pathways; liaise between the coaches and the Country Manager for any related safeguarding issues.
- Work with the Country Manager to ensure the Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are current and updated regularly.
- Support the Country Manager in leading quarterly safeguarding training sessions to all staff.
- In consultation with the Country Director and the Executive Director; recruit, hire, train and manage well qualified in-country program staff as necessary
- Ensure all new team members (coaches, players, staff) receive appropriate orientation and training in accordance with organizational standards

- Working experience at an international level with humanitarian NGOs or operational UN agencies for 0 month as a minimum
- or field experience in challenging environments for 0 month as a minimum
- Strong understanding of how sport is integrated into sports activities and conversations to promote gender equity, mental strength, etc.
- Proven experience in project management, including budget expenditure, data collection, report writing, and staff management.
- Preferable experience and strong interest in the areas of sport for development, gender equity, women’s empowerment, and public health.
- High degree of computer literacy.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and conflict resolution skills, including building and motivating teams.
