Objectives
- Support the implementation of FMx Cambodia's ongoing programs, including laboratory systems strengthening, antimicrobial stewardship, and disease surveillance initiatives.
- Contribute to the conceptualization and development of new projects, particularly those exploring the intersection of infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases in the Cambodian health context.
- Build practical competencies in laboratory science, public health program management, and applied research through hands-on engagement with FMx's technical work and partner ecosystem.
This is a paid internship with a stipend of USD 250 per month. Any work-related travel or expenses will be covered by FMx in accordance with internal policy. Access to the Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory is subject to approval by the University of Health Sciences and FMx’s lab partners.
- Participate in internal team meetings, partner coordination meetings, trainings, and field or site visits as relevant.
- Assist in the preparation and formatting of workshop materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical reports, and program documentation.
- Support data-related tasks including data entry, cleaning, synthesis, and basic analysis to contribute to ongoing program monitoring and reporting.
- Conduct desk reviews and produce short technical or research briefs on topics relevant to FMx Cambodia's programmatic priorities.
- Contribute to the development of concept notes, project proposals, or presentations under the supervision of the Country Manager.
- If approved by the relevant authorities, assist with basic laboratory-related tasks at the Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory.
- Deliver a substantive final output at the close of the internship, which may take the form of a technical report, a training module draft, or a policy or program brief.
- English - Fluent
- Khmer is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields include biology, microbiology, biomedical sciences, public health, or a related discipline. A degree in business administration with a demonstrated strong interest in global health will also be considered.
- Master's Degree is preferred
- Strong interest in laboratory systems and global health.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience in data analysis is an asset.
- Experience in desk review or literature research is an asset.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable.
