Program Assistant- Women Peace and Security
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
The Program Assistant reports directly to the Senior Program Officer and will interact with regional program team members, senior management, other program, finance, and operations staff in Cambodia, and occasionally with colleagues at The Asia Foundation’s headquarters.
External:
The Program Assistant will maintain strong relationships with The Asia Foundation’s partners, specifically grantees and government counterparts.
- The Program Assistant has the following core responsibilities:
- Support program team on logistics arrangements including procurement, identifying and/or following up with suppliers, consultants, or venues, and making payments;
- Support program team on administrative work and grant management including requests for payment, contracts/agreements, contract amendments, and payment schedules;
- Support the program team on event coordination with program partners (grantees and government counterparts);
- Support the program team to deliver high-quality program results and impact;
- Support the program team to gather project-related information relevant to program performance, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) system;
- Participate in and contribute to regular program strategy evaluations and adaptation;
- Be available for program-related travel to project provinces;
- Provide support to other programs within the Foundation as needed.
- Experience:
- At least two years of experience in project management, administrative work and events coordination, including during time spent in higher education.
- Experience working with both non-governmental organizations and government agencies is an advantage;
- An understanding of Cambodia’s governance challenges and the structure of local government;
- Experience coordinating with partners, suppliers, contractors, and consultants;
- Experience organizing/planning events and/or workshops;
- An understanding of financial and grants management, budget control, and managing development projects.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in women, peace and security-related themes, law, international relations, public policy, or related fields.
- Other:

- Good computer skills.
