Job purpose:
To lead and support the effective implementation of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement. The Primary Coordinator plays a key role in mentoring teachers, coordinating curriculum delivery, and fostering a collaborative, student-centered learning environment.
SCOPE OF JOB:

The Primary Coordinator supports curriculum delivery, mentors teachers, resolves academic and operational issues, and ensures smooth communication to uphold quality teaching and learning.
- Communication:
The Primary Coordinator leads a team of teachers with strong communication, organization, and data analysis skills, while building positive relationships across the school community.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Oversight:
- Responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum, ensuring alignment across year levels and subjects. They support teachers in developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that meet Cambridge standards, while also monitoring curriculum coverage and progression to maintain consistency and quality.
- Teacher Supervision:
- Provide effective leadership and oversight for Primary Teachers by conducting regular lesson observations, delivering constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment in alignment with Cambridge teaching standards.
- Professional Development:
- Plan and deliver impactful professional development programs for Primary Teachers, with a focus on Cambridge curriculum implementation, inquiry-based learning, and differentiated instruction. Regularly assess staff development needs, coordinate targeted training initiatives, and lead structured planning sessions to promote instructional excellence and ongoing professional growth.
- Lesson Planning Support:
- Guide teachers in developing engaging, Cambridge-aligned lesson plans that incorporate cross-curricular skills (e.g., research, analysis, collaboration) and cater to diverse learners, including English language learners and students with special needs.
- Assessment Coordination:
- Oversee the design and administration of formative and summative assessments, including Cambridge Primary Checkpoint preparation, ensuring accurate tracking of student progress and data-driven instructional adjustments.
- Parent Engagement:
- Communicate with parents through meetings, reports, and events to share student progress, explain Cambridge curriculum benefits, and address concerns, fostering trust in BISPP’s academic programs.
- Student Support:
- Collaborate with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and EAL (English as an Additional Language) specialists to ensure inclusive education, supporting teachers in implementing individualized learning plans.
- Event Coordination:
- Support school events (e.g., Cambridge curriculum showcases, cultural festivals) by coordinating with teachers and the marketing team to highlight BISPP’s academic and extracurricular offerings, such as the sensory play area or hydroponic garden.
- Policy Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to BISPP’s curriculum policies, child protection standards, and Cambodian educational regulations, maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Reporting and Data Analysis:
- Monitor academic performance metrics, prepare reports on curriculum implementation and teacher effectiveness for the Primary Principal, and recommend improvements to enhance student outcomes.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate manual and computerized records for teacher and student files (e.g., disciplinaries, examination entries), handle correspondence promptly, and take minutes during meetings to circulate necessary information.
- External Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with external organizations (e.g., Cambridge Assessment International Education, local educational bodies) to support curriculum compliance and event partnerships.
- Budget Support: Assist in preparing costings for curriculum-related activities and events, ensuring best value principles, and support financial procedures (e.g., placing purchase orders) in line with BISPP’s policies.
