Assistant Curriculum Developer (1 Position)

Position Summary

The project aims to ensure economic empowerment and fair employment for at risk youth in Siem Reap, Cambodia by developing and implementing digital literacy courses. The project will result in digitalized courses for Computer Literacy, Youth Empowerment, and Career Guidance. These will be hosted on a Learning Management System (LMS). In addition, and as part of the project, a robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tool will be established to visualize data. 

As Assistant Curriculum Developer your role will be to design and develop a comprehensive curriculum for students in grades 7-9. The successful candidate will work closely with educators, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to create a curriculum that ensures students are equipped with the skills they need to navigate the digital world effectively. 

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing curriculum materials that cover key areas like digital literacy, youth empowerment, and career guidance.
  • Help design lessons, modules, and activities that are engaging, practical, and aligned with learning outcomes.
  • Help develop supplementary materials like worksheets, quizzes, and activities that enhance learning experiences.
  • Conduct research to gather relevant content, digital tools, and resources for lessons.
  • Assist with collecting feedback from teachers and students to help improve the curriculum.
  • Help create and maintain assessment tools (e.g., quizzes, surveys, rubrics) to measure student progress.
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends in digital literacy, youth development, and career guidance to bring new ideas to the curriculum.
  • Work closely with senior curriculum developers and other team members to brainstorm and refine ideas for lessons and modules
  • Contribute ideas for activities that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and youth empowerment in digital contexts

Digital Learning and Tech Coordinator (1 Position)

Position Summary

This role will be a part of our Youth Empowerment Through Digital Literacy project, which aims to ensure economic empowerment and fair employment for at risk youth in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The project strives to achieve this goal by developing and implementing digital literacy courses. The project will result in digitalized courses for Computer Literacy, Youth Empowerment, and Career Guidance. These will be hosted on a Learning Management System (LMS). In addition, and as part of the project, a robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tool will be established to visualize data. 

As Digital Learning & Tech Co-Ordinator you will be tasked with setting up, managing and maintaining the LMS, and ensuring it operates smoothly, efficiently and securely. You will also assist the curriculum team with any technical aspects of the project. You will report to the Project Manager, and work closely with the project team, providing technical assistance where needed. As part of this role, you will also facilitate training for project staff and REACH staff, in order to ensure sustainable use of LMS.  

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Help design digital learning activities that enhance engagement and interactivity and provide guidance on best practices for course design and engagement within the platform
  • Ensure smooth integration of technology into the learning environment.
  • Install and configure plugins and modules based on organizational needs, regularly reviewing and updating them for compatibility.
  • Oversee the installation and initial setup of the LMS platform.
  • Create and manage user profiles, ensuring that each user has appropriate roles and permissions based on their needs (students, teachers, administrators, etc.).
  • Track the effectiveness of digital learning tools and assess how well they are meeting educational goals.
  • Regularly evaluate existing digital tools and technologies to determine their effectiveness.
  • Research and recommend new technologies or tools that could improve teaching and learning
  • Work with teachers and curriculum developers to integrate technology and digital learning tools into lesson plans and instructional materials
  • Facilitate training sessions and support the development of training material for project staff on effectively using the LMS platform
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to learning platforms, devices, or software
  • Offer technical assistance to educators and students using digital tools
  • Provide training and support to educators on how to effectively use digital tools and technologies for teaching
  • Ensure project staff understand security protocols, including data protection and user privacy within the LMS environment.
  • Generate reports and analytics for course performance and user activity
  • Manage backups and recovery processes
  • Support the development of training materials and resources to aid staff in their use of the LMS
  • Regularly review and update access control settings to maintain secure and efficient user management

  • Take responsibility for ensuring the team stays on track to meet key learning objectives and deliver high-quality educational materials
  • Ensure alignment of curriculum with educational standards and learning objectives
  • Ensure the curriculum is engaging, accessible, and relevant to the learning needs of students, while promoting digital fluency and critical thinking.
  • Create engaging, real-world activities that help students think critically and solve problems using digital tools (project-based learning, scenario-based learning, case studies)

Youth Pathway Trainer (1 Position)

Position Summary

Location: Thlok Andong, Sla Kram, Siem Reap, Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week. 

Current Schedule: Sunday to Thursday Shift 

Schedule Details: Monday-Thursday: 9:30-6:30pm, Sunday: 7:30-5:00pm 

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Organize and lead monthly interactive workshops for Youth Pathways Level 2 class on Sundays, documenting the sessions with reports and reflections on Asana, and guaranteeing all workshop materials and lessons are thoroughly prepared. 
  • Responsibly communicate with the youths via Telegram group and in person regarding their classroom information and important updates.  
  • Amend and develop Youth Pathways Workshop Curriculum to improve upon the Lesson Plans.  
  • Complete and assist with administration associated with the REACH Youth Pathways program (spreadsheet entry, scanning, filing, attendance monitoring, online database management). 
  • Support extra lesson payments at public school and administrative duties within the department. 
  • Supervised and provide ongoing support and consultation to local interns (sessions of the consultations to be held bi-monthly) 
  • Report and update any concerns to the Education Manager relating to students' concerns, program challenges, and program development. 
  • Be an ambassador and point of contact for the REACH Youth Pathways, building positive relationships with all youths at REACH. 
  • Liaise with staff across departments to keep track of students' performance within Level 2 Youth Pathways. 
  • Lead by example by hosting team-building activities, constantly thinking of ways to motivate the youth within the program.  
  • Accompany youths on excursions outside the campus and ensure the youths' standard safety is met. 
  • Assist in writing monthly reports on Youth Pathways core activities, challenges, program measures, and impact. 
  • Open to assist with any projects that may be piloted to reinforce the youths' qualifications, self-worth, leadership, and empowerment. 
  • Plan and support the coordination of Youth Pathways mid-semester break activities and graduation. 
  • Assist the Youth Pathways Department with the ongoing development of the program. 
  • Professionally work within policies, codes of conduct, including ethical social practice, child protection, and non-disclosure policy. 
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Fluency in verbal and written Khmer.
  • Excellent communication skills both in verbal and written English.
  • A degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or a relevant degree is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Work experience within NGOs.
  • Ability to work well with children and youths and gain their respect.
  • A clear understanding of child protection and local laws.
  • Good computer literacy skills (must have experience in the use of email as well as Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • A passionate individual who wants to work with a progressive, dynamic, and creative team in an NGO setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to REACH’s mission.
  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake duties outside of the teaching role as and when required.
