Open Development Cambodia Organization (ODC) is the leading open data digital platform in Cambodia, which provides up-to-date and reliable data and information publicly available in a 'one-stop shop' in both Khmer and English. Following open data principles, the data and information are available to everyone at no cost and can be used, reused, and shared under a Creative Commons License. The purpose of ODC is to promote the use of accurate data for evidence-based decision-making processes, enhance government accountability and transparency, as well as encourage citizens’ participation in public affairs. ODC was conceived by the East-West Management Institute (EWMI) and officially registered as a local NGO in August 2015.

Job Summary:

Open Development Cambodia (ODC) is looking for the Board Member to join the team. The Board Member works collectively with ODC Board of Directors in overseeing to ensure the functionality of the Board and guiding the organization with sound governance, fiduciary and strategic oversight and direction.

As ODC is a small organization, this role will normally provide support for at least two projects.

Requirements
  • To be accepted for Board membership, an individual must:
  • share the values and mission of ODC
  • express a commitment to serve as a Board member for at least three years
  • have relevant and appropriate work experience and skills
  • demonstrate personal integrity.
  • No individual demonstrating a conflict of interest with ODC’s purpose or nature as a non-political organization can be accepted onto the Board.
  • Preferably, the majority of Board members will be Cambodian.

Job Summary:

Open Development Cambodia (ODC) is looking for a new full-time Economics Editor-Researcher to join the team. The Economics Editor-Researcher will:

  • Provide support in producing bilingual online resources for ODC, focusing on the themes of the Economy and Industry program. These resources will include research topic pages, daily news summaries, public announcements, research publications, regulations, and other documents.
  • Provide editorial support to other teams and maintain editorial standards and protocols to ensure high-quality content on the ODC website.
  • Work closely with the team in the Economy and Industry program to implement the ODC outreach activities as assigned.

As ODC is a small organization, this role will normally provide support for at least two projects.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, digital economy, economic law, or other relevant areas such as international relations, education, and journalism.
  • Proficiency in English and Khmer, including grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • At least two years’ work experience with proven ability in research writing, proofreading, copy editing, and grammar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WordPress, and web browsers.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to take the lead or new initiatives in supporting program and organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and as an independent lead.
  • Ability to form and maintain professional relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
