Duties

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Finance Manager – Country Procurement Lead will lead the total procurement function for IDP Cambodia including financial reporting and accounting, management reporting, tax and Audits, group and local compliances, and financial planning and analysis.

Duties
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely and accurate production of Management and Statutory accounts plus supporting management reporting
  • Manage closing activities
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Audit support (internal & external)
  • Tax Compliance plus Internal & External Financial Standards/Policies and Controls compliance
  • Continuous Process Optimisation
  • Assist in implementing and management of projects
  • Ad-hoc tasks assigned by management
  • Accounting:
  • General accounting GL activities and liaison with all campus, corporate functions and finance shared service
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial closures and reporting process including KPI tracking, reporting and analytical review
  • Oversee and perform GL account reconciliations ensuring entries are accurate & transactions reported in accordance with accounting standards & government regulations.
  • Developing and deliver corrective actions to close budget variances
  • Assist in both internal and external audits, maintain internal controls, and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
  • Contribute to corporate financial projects, process improvements, and system upgrades.
  • Utilize IT systems to improve quality and efficiency
  • Tax:
  • Take ownership of Tax compliance and reporting processes, ensure the timely and accurate tax returns, direct and indirect, in collaboration with local firms.
  • Assist the preparation and submission of accurate and timely tax returns, including income tax and other tax-related filings.
  • Assist in external audits (Direct and Indirect Tax)
  • Leadership:
  • Regularly manage and review all campus lead accountant’s priorities, activities and deliverables, agreeing priorities with direct manager
  • Actively engage with Campus Finance team members so that they grow personally and meaningfully contribute to Cambodia’s operational and financial success
  • Drive team motivation / training and development needs
Requirements
  • Professional Accounting qualification e.g. ACCA or CIMA
  • Minimum 8 years’ related experience preferably in Education, FMCG or multi-site Retail businesses, with 3+ years of senior managerial role
  • Highly effective at planning and organising, managing multiple competing priorities and colleagues across multiple locations
  • Highly effective relationship management skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet all reporting deadlines
  • Effective English communication skills across all key methods – oral (including presentations), written and non-verbal.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word) skills.
  • Experience with major accounting software e.g. Oracle or SAP
