Duties
  • Set yearly school goals to support the school’s Strategic Plan and lead the Academic Department to achieve the set goal in accordance with school vision, mission and SLOs;
  • Report monthly achievement to the campus manager, school director, and BOD;
  • Propose action plan for next month and assist the campus manager/school director in setting school goals and directions of the campus;
  • Represent school in the community/media and participate in the school marketing activities, fundraising events, celebrations, or other activities to promote school reputation and public awareness;
  • Ensure the academic and student records are in compliance with the requirements from Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport;
  • Plan and implement a system to evaluate the success of the international curriculum and the effectiveness of the teaching based on data of student learning outcomes from internal assessments and external assessment;
  • Lead and support Khmer teachers in their work duties including reviewing lesson plans, improving teaching standards/approach and providing training and professional development plan in the Khmer Program;
  • Lead and support the Academic Team in their work duties, including collecting/reviewing data on student grades, progress, learning approach, behavior, attendance, and proposing action plan for improvement with relevant faculty members/managers;
  • Review school policies and procedures regularly to ensure the effective operation of the school, and create ad hoc committees to propose improvements to policies and procedures;
  • Conduct performance review of staff in the Academic Department and Khmer Faculty and provide reflective feedback and support staff to achieve the set professional growth;
  • Create positive school climate and culture of thriving for excellence within the whole school;
  • Develop professional development plans or training for the Academic Team and Khmer Teachers;
  • Organize promotional events for school to the public, in the media or session for parent or public;
  • Task staff members to organize sessions to cultivate student culture of growth mindset, desire to learn, and independent learners in accordance with the character profile adopted school wide;
  • Task staff members to organize academic competitions and lead students in various educational events/competitions outside of school;
  • Liaise with third parties to create partnership, improve school programs, and exchange good practices and friendship;

Main Responsibilities of Assistant School Director

The assistant school director's role is to take on responsibilities assigned by the school director to achieve the overarching school goals, especially within the academic and the student affairs departments across the elementary and secondary schools based on the staffing requirements and needs of the school. The AD has to be ready to take over a head of department role whenever is assigned by the school director based on the school staffing and operational needs. The job responsibilities of AD include:

Duties
  • Curriculum and Instructional Management:
  • Lead curriculum review horizontal and vertical for the Khmer curriculum to be in alignment with the schoolwide learning outcomes and the definition of high-quality teaching and learning (HQTL) that fit with the school context and student needs.
  • Lead and monitor the implementation of Khmer curriculum to ensure student learning in the Khmer program achieve the national standards of literacy in each grade level.
  • Lead and support Khmer teaching staff to ensure that their teaching practice is ethical and modeling the Cambodian values and learning environment that thrives for excellence, values good morality, fairness and positive support to all learners.
  • Plan Khmer teacher leave and coverage plan.
  • Lead and support all teachers in reinforcement of positive classroom management.
  • Plan academic and extra-curricular activities to promote student joy for learning and enriched learning experiences in accordance with the schoolwide learning outcomes.
  • Lead extra-curricular activities that promote student global competency such public speaking and debates clubs, IELTS and SAT prep clubs, student leadership and service-learning clubs, and other clubs that enriches student global competency.
  • Plan summer program that can attract student interest and enrich their learning experience.
  • Lead and support all teachers in teaching pedagogy to raise student academic achievements in both international tests (NWEA MAP, IELTS, SAT and AP) and in Khmer Program.
  • Take part in report writing and leading steering committees for international accreditations.
  • Conduct walk-through observations regularly and provide feedback for improvement to Khmer teachers and report feedback to the line management of International teachers to discuss areas for improvement in the international program to ensure there is a consistency of good teaching practices across the school.
  • Report on progress of implementation of school curriculum content both international and Khmer programs.
  • Report about Khmer program achievement, challenges and recommendation to overcome the challenges to the school leadership team monthly.
  • Fill-in temporary as English Language Art Teacher when there is an emergency leave of any teacher.
  • Serve as teachers line management if appointed by the school director based on staffing needs.
  • Fulfil other tasks that related to the curriculum and instructional management based on school needs and assignment by the school director.
  • Student Learning Progress, Counseling and Community Relations:
  • Review student achievement data from multiple angles including internal assessments, international test and observations and propose actions plans increase student achievements school wide.
  • Conduct workshop, seminar or presentation about the school programs and service to increase student engagement in their learning and school activities.
  • Conduct presentation or seminar in school events or in the media to promote about the school quality and program.

This position of Deputy Head of Student Affairs covers both the elementary program at Learning Jungle International School and the secondary program at Westview Cambodian International School.

Duties
  • Be able to set goals for Student Affairs department and execute the plans to achieve the set goals to support the achievement of school goals and guiding statements;
  • Be able to serve as the line manager of an assigned group of Student Affairs Supervisors to support the team to perform their duty to the best of their ability, serving as role model and a leader who can build staff capacity and loyalty to the school.

  • Collaborate with other department heads in the achieve common school goals.

Duties
  • Supervise student learning and monitor teaching quality in the international and Khmer programs of the assigned classes;

  • Lead and support Khmer teachers in their work duties, including reviewing lesson plans, improving teaching standards/approach, and providing training and professional development plan in the Khmer Program;
  • Coordinate with international teachers, program coordinator to improve student behavior and academic progress;
  • Coordinate with teachers to ensure the smooth operations of the assigned classes, including coordinating the classroom decoration, arrangement and supplies as well as online technology, and infrastructure for online classrooms;
  • Coordinate with teachers to prepare class schedule, letter home, textbooks, notebooks, study materials, and any learning tools to send home;
  • Coordinate between the Front Office class supervisors and teachers to respond effectively to parent request and comment;
