Assistant to Cardamoms Forest Protection Program

Position Summary

Job will involve frequent travelling to the patrol units in the provinces, working with forest patrol units, coordinating logistics and preparation of written reports.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Basic knowledge of Arc GIS and GPS
  • Very Good oral and written communication skills (Khmer and English)
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Cares about saving the forest and wildlife
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willing to work long hours and long distances (Phnom Penh to provinces)
  • Resourceful, mature, hardworking and can work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • With sufficient driving experience and must possess a driver’s license (at least Category B)
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • General understanding of Environmental Code (law enforcement related)
  • Providing administrative and logistics support to CFPP program, including translating CFPP related documents from Khmer to English and English to Khmer
  • Occasional driving, frequent travel to the field
  • Handling daily reports, checking summary reports, drafting written reports
  • Combining monthly summary reports from all stations for the Project Manager
  • Providing interpretation support to CFPP expatriate advisors when needed
  • Assisting the GIS technician in the preparation of UTM lists, GIS flyover maps and other patrol itineraries
  • Assisting CFPP rangers in financial procedures
  • Doing other duties as may be assigned from time to time
