If you answered yes to all 3, then New Future for Children (NFC) is looking for you.

NFC is a non-profit, local government organization established in March 2003 to provide daily and educational needs for a group of vulnerable live-in children who were victims of abuse. In 2014 NFC opened “The Community Education Project (CEP)” to provide disadvantaged children in the local community with the opportunity to receive free classes in English, as well as computer and life skills (handcraft, cultural training, soft-skills, vocational and university training, etc.).

As an IT and Computer Teacher, you will play an important role in promoting education for local children from poor families in Phnom Pehn, and occasionally in Prey Srolet village (Prey Veng province). You will teach disadvantaged, but highly motivated, children of all ages.

We are seeking a full-time IT Staff / Computer Teacher to start on 03rd March 2025, who will have the following IT task responsibilities.

Working hours: 40 hours per week.

Salary: $350-$400 based on experience. Some more benefits such as bonus, and medical care will also be provided. In addition, a 13th month salary bonus for Khmer New Year and Pchum Ben, and a limited medical care will also be provided.

Duties
  • The responsibilities can be summarized as follows:
  • Have the primary responsibility for teaching computer lessons to children in preparation for exams, to move up the different levels of the curriculum.
  • Record attendance, student’s progress in learning the computer lessons and any behaviour issues.
  • Evaluate and report the student’s computer abilities and progress on an ongoing basis and indicate when they are ready to take computer exams from one to another levels.
  • Responsible for noting daily and reporting problems with computers in the computer lab and the server to the Director.
  • Responsible for enforcement of rules and discipline within the computer lab.
  • Responsible for having the children keep the computer lab and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Manage and maintain NFC’s IT and server system
  • Purchase and replace computer equipment on time, as required
Requirements
  • Female or male candidates with good social skills
  • Ability to communicate and use English well
  • At least fourth year student in Information Technology degree or related IT field
  • Some experience in managing IT subjects and teaching computer lessons
  • Motivated, patient and willing to work under pressure
  • Hard working, committed and with a strong interest to work with children
  • Ability to teach in both Khmer and English
  • Ability to provide a disciplined and ordered classroom experience.
  • Ability to find and use audio, visual and other resources from the Internet
  • Ability to work independently and/or with Khmer and foreign volunteers as a team
  • Ability to plan and teach according to children’s schedules
