The Australian Embassy is seeking applications for an Assistant Manager for the Australian Centre for Agricultural Research (ACIAR). At least one vacancy will be filled through this process, with suitable candidates merit listed for future vacancies.

Under the limited direction of the Regional Manager, the Assistant Manager (AM) works with reasonable autonomy and accountability on a range of complex initiatives to ensure that ACIAR supported projects and programs are appropriately targeted, promoted, and managed. The position is responsible for providing policy advice, reporting and supporting management of research and capacity development partnerships in Cambodia. The Assistant Manager supports, monitors, analyses and provides strategic and tactical advice relevant to program effectiveness, policy dialogue, strategic partnerships and broader ACIAR interests. The Assistant Manager works in close collaboration with the Regional Manager who is based in Laos.
This position is available immediately, and after an initial three-month probationary period, the successful candidate may be offered a 24-month contract, with the possibility of renewal and ultimately permanent employment.
A competitive salary package is offered, including participation in a performance management and bonus scheme. The basic monthly salary range for the position starts at USD2,907.
