Announcement Description

The Kingdom of Cambodia through the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Ministry of Interior (MoI), Ministry of Environment (MoE) and Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has received Credit in the amount of US$63.00 million equivalent from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of Cambodia Solid Waste and Plastic Management Improvement Project with the closing date of April 30, 2029, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the captioned consultancy services.

Position Summary

Recruitment type : Local Based Recruitment

Hire/Procurement type : National Individual Consultant (NIC)

Term Duration : One year of full-time contract services with possible extension and based on performance evaluation.

Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • The Cambodia Solid Waste and Plastic Management Improvement Project now invites eligible, qualified individual consultant for the position of National Solid Waste Management Engineer (MPWT-INV-01) based at the MPWT. The selected consultant shall demonstrate he/she has met the following qualification:
  • At least bachelor’s degree in environmental/civil/waste engineering or other relevant fields;
  • At least 8 years of working experience in detailed engineering design and construction supervision of environmental infrastructure, preferably in solid waste sector;
  • Proven work experience under bilateral/multilateral funded projects/programs including WB, ADB, EU or other development donors;
  • Have experience in contract management, documentation, and correspondences;
  • Work experience with environmental mitigation measures in solid waste disposal is an asset;
  • Be proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software programs and MS Project Management; Fluency in written and spoken English and Khmer and good report writing skills;
  • Experience in facilitating trainings, workshops and group discussions is an asset.
