Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI), Cambodia's leading independent development policy research institute, is seeking to hire a Full-time Library Assistant attached to the Communication and Impact Unit (CIU). The Library Assistant administers the library systems, ensuring library records are up-to-date, and library resources are well-maintained and processed. Hence, they are accessible and available to researchers, staff, and students at all times. Maintains the circulation system by keeping records of issues, returns and overdue materials; processes orders for resources, equipment and library supplies.

Duties
  • Classify and computerise books;
  • Maintain a database system for cataloguing and retrieval;
  • Maintain a loan system and train new library users;
  • Help maintain the library collection and ensure all books are in their correct order so that library users can access them quickly;
  • Teach people how to use the library resources;
  • Help plan and participate in special library events such as publication displays or other special events.
  • Maintain the old journals in the storeroom to make them accessible;
  • Make lists of new documents acquired by the library and send them to CDRI researchers fortnightly or monthly through the Internal Website;
  • Assist with the institute and library work assigned by the communication and impact coordinator;
  • Report their activities to the communication and impact coordinator.
  • Make requests for complimentary publications and arrange for publications exchange only inside Cambodia;
  • Maintain close relationships with other libraries and institutions to acquire new documents.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in library management, including classifying, computerising books and documents;
  • Computer knowledge in the NewGenLib software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and database;
  • Strong English reading, speaking and writing skills;
  • Used to work with a cross-culture;
  • Friendly.
