Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the safety manager in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for high-risk port activities (e.g., container handling, crane operations, vessel berthing).
- Ensure all safety protocols align with both company policy and international maritime regulations.
- Co-facilitate and organize safety training sessions, induction programs for new hires, and specialize for dockworkers and contractors.
- Promote a “Safety First” mindset across all levels of the port staff.
- Conduct comprehensive monthly inspections of all safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, PPE, lifebuoys, first aid kits, and emergency alarms.
- Perform regular site walk-thoughts to identify and mitigate physical hazards on the quayside and in the warehouses.
- Assist in the investigation of near-misses and accidents; gather evidence and help draft root-cause analysis reports.
- Maintain accurate records of safety data and KPIs.
- Execute specific tasks as assigned by the safety manager (e.g., supervising hazardous cargo discharge or managing waste disposal protocols).
- Act as a bridge between the safety manager and the local workforce to ensure clear communication of safety requirements.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
- English - Good
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in or Associate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related field.
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
- Safety Certificates (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, or related certificate)
- Vessel maneuvering

- Able to write,read and speak in English.
