Bayon Education & Development NGO, usually called “Bayon School” in English or “Ecole du Bayon” in French”, is a local NGO that has been registered with the Ministry of Interior (MOI) of Cambodia on March 25, 2015, which is under fully financial supporting from Ecole du Bayon NGO in France.

Bayon Education & Development NGO is a qualified education development organization with programs focused on two main areas:

  • A Khmer General Education for the Poorest Children.
  • A Technical Vocational Education & Training for young people from the disadvantaged family of Cambodia.

Bayon Education & Development NGO operates its several programs in Cambodia which head office is located at Taphul road, Sangkat Svay Dangkun, Krong Siem Reap, Siem Reap province, Kingdom of Cambodia. Presently, Bayon School is working on four important programs as follow:

  • Primary school program: provide free education for children from kindergarten to grade 6.
  • Follow-up student program for lower and upper secondary school students. And provide university scholarships for students after successfully finished grade 12.
  • Pastry school program: we provide vocational training (TVET) in pastry and bakery skills for around 25 underprivileged women every year.
  • Green farming program: Its objective is to involve families of students of the primary school to grow organic vegetables on their land and family income generation.
  • Agroecology school is a new project inside of the green farming program designed to provide free vocational training in agroecology skills for youth people from disadvantaged families about 10 to 25 trainees a year.

Pastry & Bakery School Responsible

Position Summary

Location: Siem Reap (Taphul village, Svay Dongkom commune)

Main Job Duties

The overall duty of the Pastry & Baker School Responsible is to manage the school in its technical vocational educational mission towards the unprivileged woman in the field of Bakery & Pastry. To cover school expenses, the School Responsible is also in charge of Sales and Coffee shop, and pastry lab production.

Overall, she/he is the image of the school for outside partners, donors thereby ensuring the recognition and reputation of Bayon Education and Development (BED) NGO in Cambodia.

She/he is a member of the Management Team of the Bayon Education & Development (BED).

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate Bayon School vocational training program in Bakery & Pastry
  • Ensure the quality of education including general knowledge and technical skills
  • Responsible for students’ internship
  • Responsible for student’s job placement
  • Sales and Coffee Shop Supervision
  • Coffee shop (CS) supervision
  • Pastry lab production (PLP) organization
  • Conduct school administration, staff supervision and budget preparation and control
  • Staff supervision

  • Public relationship and other duties
  • Participate to public relations with outside partners, NGO, local authorities, school directors
  • Other duties that will be required by the manager.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Women are strongly motivated to apply.
  • A person who is more passive, actively, and mature
  • At least 8 years of working experience in pastry and bakery.
  • Have sales experience for at least 2 years.
  • Administration, management, and leadership experiences of at least 2 years.
  • Fluent in Khmer and English.
  • Strong ICT skills, especially for Ms. Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoints, Email & Internet).
  • Teaching experience and having pedagogical certificates are a plus!
 
 

Maintenance Staff

Position Summary

Location: Siem Reap (Trapangses village, Kokchork commune)

Main Job Duties

His/her overall duties are mainly responsible for Bayon Primary School Maintenance and the Safety of the students during study time in the school areas. Make sure the school is cleaned and organized properly on areas environment and make sure there is enough water for using and drinking at school as well. Moreover, on solar panel and the stock room controlling.

He/she is under the direct supervisory of Bayon Primary School Principal and reporting operational to the hierarchy position such as Deputy Programs Director and Programs Director of NGO. Also, because of he/she has one day per week duties in the Bayon Pastry School, so he/she need to report to the Pastry School Director for the specific task of the Pastry School required.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Overseeing on the Solar Panel and Room (15%):
  • Maintain the Solar panel such as cleaning the panel on the roof and in the room of system. Cleaning shall be conducted one time a month, however, it will be bi-weekly for some months.
  • Ensure the cleaned of the solar room, not the dirty room.
  • Daily checking and reporting to School Principal immediately, if there is any problems of low power supply or electricity cannot work well.
  • Checking the power, cable, and battery of solar system to be sure everything is working.
  • Overseeing the electricity in school campus, in classroom, canteen, library… to be sure they are working.
  • Maintain light, fan in classroom.
  • Drinking Water for the Canteen and Kids in the School (10%):
  • Maintain and produce drinking water from UV system.
  • Wash up the filtration system on upstair
  • Follow up Water and UV system in weekly such as : chlorin charge, chlorin control, clean sand and filter every Friday after lunch, clean 1st, storage tank iron, clean 2nd storage once a year, and clean drinking water tank.
  • Pumping water for supplying in canteen and washing hands station.
  • Water Supply for Using in the School (15%):
  • Every morning, check all the sink, toilet and canteen to make sure that there is enough water for using in the school.
  • Keep safety of pumping machines and using it in the proper ways, not to be lost.
  • Fixing the pumping machine, if broken. If cannot fixed, please propose to the school principal for repairing with outside technical.
  • Purchase the gasoline and refill the gasoline of pumping machine.
  • Schedule to change the machine oil in monthly
  • School Campus Environment (15%):
  • Collecting the trash from every class’s bin to keep in the big trash tank.
  • Transport the garbage to garbage dumpsite.
  • Make sure all the areas of the school is cleaned (no rubbish, no grass, no plastic bag, and others). School campus cleaning should be helping from the students.
  • Check all the areas of the school such as land or other things that should be needed to make it better. For example, make land flat, plant flowers, etc.
  • Maintain table, banches, wall and roof of building.
  • Protect students during study time from monkey or animals which can be dangerous.
  • Other specific task that will be assigned by the school principal regarding to the topic.
  • School Keys Holder (5%):
  • Organize the proper place to keep the keys as well as purchase the key if required.
  • Control using of the keys by other people in the school and make it safety of using the keys and efficient, not to be lost. However, if loss, inform and request to change immediately.
  • Make sure he/she closes every rooms and check everything before leave out the school or duties.
  • He/she will be not allowed to leave the school or duties before 5:30pm.
  • Fixing Parts or Things (20%):
  • Needs to check lights, fans, sink, electricity, and others things of the school, if there are something need to be fixed or repaired.
  • Prepare the purchase requisition to buy something for repairing of the broken things,
  • Students Guarding/Caring in the Primary School Campus (15%):
  • He/she needs to make sure all the students are safe (no tree climbing, no going in to the forest and play in any dangerous thing or area, etc.)
  • His/her standby place should be mostly in front of the school or nearby the temple and all the strange visitors will be avoided by the maintenance staff as it is one of his/her responsibility.
  • No smoking or using the drugs in the school campus as well as children abuse. If he/she is found the case of children abuse inform to social worker or school principal immediately for action.
  • Other Tasks (5%)
  • Ensure children at all times are protected from physical, emotional and sexual abuse, and report any mistreatment or abuse of children.
  • Ensure that the Bayon Education and Development code of conduct is followed by staff at all times.
  • Follow other duties as reasonably required by management.
  • Respect child rights, privacy and confidentiality at all times, by involving children in case planning, ensuring that their privacy is protected, and not disclosing sensitive or private information to other children, or other agencies, without permission by the child, with consideration of the child’s development, and other safety issues
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Certificate of electricity and water or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experiences in maintenance
  • Can speak English is plus
  • A person willing to work under pressure and multi-functions.
  • Good team spirit, dedicated, ready to help people and strong motivation
  • Flexible, hardworking and good communication with other.
