Nutrition and Community Development Officer
Location: Dom Daek, Sotr Nikum district, Siem Reap province
This full-time position is for a period of 12 months, renewable including a probation period of 3 months,
The signed contract will be under Cambodian law.
Salary will be based on skills and experience, and on Gret's salary scale in Cambodia.
Working hours
Daily working hours of 8 hours per day from Monday to Friday. Possibility of being involved in events during weekends. Weekend work is compensated.
- Gather and develop technical references for support to rural households, farmers and Gret team
- Read bibliography and project's documentation to understand the Linking Agriculture, Nutrition and Natural resources management (LANN) methodology, and to understand the Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) context in TETARD target area;
- Develop appropriate Information, Education and Communication tools for events in synergy with other project components (fruit and vegetable show and others)
- Contribute to GRET internal capitalization on the LANN methodology based on project’s experience
- Provide adapted advice to rural households and consumers, train and accompany them in implementation of FNS recommendations and monitor the results
- Organize cooking demonstrations and competitions
- Develop and implement the seed kit distribution strategy: identification of the seeds to be distributed, development and implementation of the curriculum.
- Training, coaching and follow-up of the commune committee of women and children (CCWC) and health center (HC) who have been trained on the LANN methodology
- Develop and implement a strategy to raise awareness on LANN’s key messages including training, field visits for different targets (general public, local authorities, schools, journalists...)
- Work closely with the local authorities at commune level for the integration of the LANN methodology implementation in the commune investments plan
- Follow up the spreading of the key messages related to nutrition in other components from the project
- Organize/ facilitate public awareness campaigns on sustainable agriculture/ nutrition and food security with relevant partners
- Conduct journalists’ field day to raise the awareness on nutrition and food security
- Representation and management of external relationships
- Participate to SUN CSA meetings and events on behalf of Gret
- Participate to the Food and Nutrition Security Working Group led by CARD (national level)
- Collaborate and communicate with NGOs with similar projects in Siem Reap Province and exchange information on the project activities and avoid overlaps
- Develop local networks for GRET with CSOs and local authorities
- Communicate on GRET activities
- Participate in events organized by local authorities, partners and networks on thematic related to the nutrition and food security
- Prepare invitation letters for partners/ authorities if needed
- Communicate and network with local authority
- In collaboration with other team from GRET, facilitate the implement of a diagnosis on Non-Communicable Diseases in the project target area
- Coordinate with the project team and with other projects
- Consult with HoP and TA ahead of implementation, for all relevant FNS activities,
- Support the social inclusion specialist for the inclusion of vulnerable farmers in commune investment plans
- Strong linkage with the other technicians to organize nutrition sensitive trainings (especially key messages sharing in technical trainings)
- Submit all relevant data and reports to the HoP, TA and M&E officer
- Submit all relevant support documents to the admin/
- Participate in monthly meeting, weekly meeting and other team meetings
- Participate in team training conducted by other technicians/partners
- Share knowledge regarding FNS with other technicians
- Assist other technicians in resolving problems related to the inclusion of FNS in their component
- Assist in proposition of new action plans and strategies for the TETARD project
- Monitor and report about the progress and result of field activities
- Analyse seed kit data to assess the impact of the project on the beneficiaries
- Propose adjustment of project’s activities and intervention strategy
- Write monthly and activity reports for HoP and TA and progress report for local authorities
- Share updated activities implementation information for steering committee presentation and regular meetings with the donors
- Compare the planned and realized activities on a monthly basis with HoP support
- Provide the best photo for nutrition component to project
- Any other duty according to the project needs and priorities
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, rural development or other relevant academic background
- At least 3 years’ experience on nutrition and community development
- Background on field awareness raising, capacity building, coaching
- Experience on working with local authorities
- Good knowledge of rural development on livelihood improvement
- Knowledge of the SR Province is an asset
- Computer literate especially Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Power point, Internet-email etc.

- Fluent in writing and speaking Khmer and English
