Position Overview
The Nurse for sampling will play a key role in carrying out essential sampling activities within the area dedicated to taking biological samples at the Medical Biology Laboratory of the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge.
Recruitment conditions:
- Language: Proficiency in Khmer and English and/or French
- Position: Full-time
- Contract: The initial contract is offered for 1 year (renewable)
- Start Date: Available to start as soon as possible

- Collect blood and bacteriological samples according to laboratory protocol
- Verify the identity of the patient before sampling
- Verify the concordance of the medical prescription with the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Inform patients about the expected turnaround time for results
- Check the conformity of the external samples and requests according to the laboratory protocols
- Sort samples according to the designated recipient laboratory
- Transport biological samples to the appropriate laboratories
- Maintain sampling rooms and equipment in compliance with laboratory procedures
- Carry out selective waste sorting and adhere to hygiene and safety guidelines.
- Participate in the development, implementation and improvement of the laboratory quality system
- Carry out additional tasks such as patient reception, answering phone calls, and using of the LIS
- Qualified Nurse OR a qualified midwife / Medical Laboratory Technician interested in transitioning to sampling activities.
- Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
- Language: Excellent communication in Khmer and either English or French (spoken and written)
- Familiar with computer use (Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural and scientific environment.
