We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic full-time National Intern to join the PSE team under the ISPH II project. This 6-month internship (1st August 2026 to 31st January 2027), based at the ISPH Sayon Office in Phnom Penh, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strengthening of PSE for health professionals, specifically nursing education, in Cambodia.
The intern will have the flexibility to focus on one or more of the following areas, depending on their interests and background:
- Implementation of CBE in classroom settings (in collaboration with HSI-RCAF)
- Implementation of CBE in clinical contexts (in partnership with KSFH and CCFKH)
- Development of national program accreditation tools (working with MoH-HRDD)
Specific tasks will be defined and adapted in consultation with an assigned supervisor to ensure meaningful, context-relevant, and tailored learning experiences for the intern. This internship follows a task-based learning model grounded in knowledge transfer and adult learning theory, combining real-world assignments with reflective learning, personalized goal setting, and continuous feedback. Skills development will focus on health professions education, generic transferable skills, and professional competencies, with the aim of preparing the intern for effective transition into professional, interdisciplinary, and collaborative working environments.
- Support the PSE team in preparing and delivering activities (e.g., workshops, training) related to implementation of CBE in classroom, simulation, and clinical learning environments at health sciences training institutions
- Assist the PSE team in reviewing existing national standards for nursing program accreditation and contribute to the development, consultative processes, coordination, and field testing of program accreditation standards in collaboration with relevant counterparts
- Support student engagement, gender-related and capacity-building activities through initiatives, workshop coordination, communication, documentation, and administrative assistance.
- Carry out other project-related tasks assigned by the supervisor
- Hands-on learning through a structured, task-based learning model designed to enhance personal and professional growth.
- Personalized mentorship with a supervisor through regular progress check-ins and monthly reflections
- Professional skills development in communication, stakeholder analysis, workshop organization, time management, note-taking, reflective writing, and feedback reflection.
- Experience in collaborative work with the GIZ ISPH-II internal team(s), government institutions such as the Ministry of Health, hospitals, and health science training institutions.
- The opportunity to design and propose an initiative aligned with the intern’s own interests, potentially contributing to meaningful change in student engagement or gender-related in health professions education.
- Exposure to technology-enhanced learning and responsible use of generative AI tools in professional settings
- Experience or involvement in CBE implementation and networking with relevant stakeholders in the field of health professions education
- Certificate of completion upon successful internship

- Undergraduate Degree in the final year of, or recently graduated from, a bachelor's or associate degree in nursing or other relevant health sciences fields such as pharmacy, midwifery, medical laboratory technology, public health, or allied health sciences.
- Strong interest in improving health professions education, especially in nursing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Khmer and English
- Familiarity in standard MS Office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Adaptability and flexibility in a multicultural working environment
- Ability to perform tasks independently and as part of a team under supervision
