MYP Language Acquisition teacher- Chinese Mandarin (Part-time 18%)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The role of a teacher in the Secondary School is the academic and socio-emotional growth of students.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Exhibit a commitment to the School’s Mission and Vision, curriculum, teaching and learning philosophy, including assessment and pedagogy
  • Provide a learning environment that includes all students.
  • Promote diverse representation of our student body in the department-wide curriculum.
  • Actively contribute to the Advisory Programme, through Home Group pastoral care and teaching the formal Advisory schedule that addresses student health and well-being.
  • Present a positive image, at all times, as an ambassador for the school and the IB.
  • Contribute to the development, documentation and delivery of the curriculum in homeroom or single subjects
  • Advocate and support the academic progress and pastoral care of all students
  • Contribute to a positive, open and supportive teaching and learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and administration.
  • Engage with the appraisal process and continual professional development, in all its forms
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Certification as a Secondary School Teacher (for example, Bachelor or Education, Graduate Diploma in Education or the equivalent)
  • An undergraduate or Master’s degree in the subject area
