Announcement Description

Join a passionate team of people committed to animal welfare and the control of rabies in Cambodia. WVS Cambodia with our project Mission Rabies Cambodia (MRC) are working to educate the people about rabies and how to get along with the canine population in their communities.

Since its inception in 2019, Mission Rabies Cambodia (MRC) has vaccinated over 320,000 animals against rabies within Phnom Penh, Kandal and Battambang Provinces. Through its partnerships with the General Directorate of Animal Health and Production (GDAHP), the first provincial-wide mass dog vaccination (MDV) campaign was implemented in Phnom Penh Province in 2023. In October 2024, WVS, ARC, GDAHP alongside partners made another achievement through a large-scale MDV campaign in Phnom Penh, Kandal and Battambang Provinces, over 229,000 dogs vaccinated and involving hundreds of dedicated volunteers, local health workers, and veterinary professionals. This campaign set a new standard for mass dog vaccination in Cambodia. Within these successes, the program on rabies education, mass dog vaccination (MDV) and integrated bite case management (IBCM) have been scaled up. In 2025 we are strengthening the vaccination coverage in our working Provinces in another Mass Dog Vaccination campaign starting in October.

You will be working as a core campaign and communication liaison to develop and monitor the campaign promotion strategy - including creating social media content, supporting the development of press releases and communication with the press during our campaign as well as and raising awareness on rabies prevention, and protection. Your critical role will help disseminate the campaign information to the public, maximising the outcomes of the MDV campaign and rabies knowledge to marginalized and vulnerable groups.
