Founded in 2021, PMCI (People for Medical Cooperation International) is an international NGO dedicated to serving marginalized communities through mobile healthcare services and targeted health initiatives. Our mission is to promote holistic well-being by providing essential medical care and capacity-building programs. In Cambodia, we actively support the training and development of local healthcare professionals, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to enhance medical services. PMCI collaborates closely with PMCA Hospital, its sister institution, to deliver high-quality healthcare and expand access to medical services for those in need.

Medical Doctor (1 Position)

Position Summary

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Coordination in planning, implementing, reporting of outreach medical services.
  • Conduct medical consultations and diagnose illnesses in outreach clinics.
  • Prescribe and administer appropriate treatments and medications.
  • Provide emergency care and refer patients to hospitals when necessary.
  • Supervise nurses and healthcare workers, ensuring quality patient care.
  • Educate patients on disease prevention, hygiene, and basic healthcare.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and report health trends to PMCI.
  • Ensure compliance with medical protocols and ethical standards.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with a valid license.
  • Experience in primary healthcare, emergency medicine, or community health preferred.
  • Ability to work in remote and resource-limited settings.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours.

Job Purpose

The Project Staff will support the effective implementation of mobile health clinics and long-term community health projects in both urban and rural settings. This role will serve as a critical bridge between PMCI’s medical team, local health centers, and community stakeholders, ensuring quality coordination, planning, and evaluation of health programs for the marginalized.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Community Health Program Development
  • Collaborate with local health centers and authorities to plan long-term community-based health projects.
  • Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of health education initiatives and health club activities in rural communities, especially in chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
  • Participate in health screening campaigns and community follow-up.
  • Urban Slum Health Projects
  • Support urban health outreach for poor families through medical case management, patient follow-up, and referrals.
  • Engage with community volunteers and churches in urban areas to raise awareness and promote preventive health practices.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
  • Collect and organize data from mobile clinics and community health projects.
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly reports, including lessons learned and recommendations.
  • Assist with donor reports and documentation of case stories or community impact.
  • Administrative & Logistical Support
  • Support the planning, preparation, and reporting of mobile health outreach events.
  • Coordinate logistics for field visits including transportation, material preparation, and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Community Health, or other related fields.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in public health or community-based health projects in Cambodia.
  • Experience working with marginalized communities and/or government health systems preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good administrative and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • English proficiency is essential.
  • Other:
  • Willingness to travel frequently to provincial areas.
  • Commitment to PMCI’s mission and christian values, including compassion and service to the poor.
