HI, founded in 1982 in Cambodia and working today in more than 60 countries, is an independent and impartial aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict, and disaster. HI works alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, taking action and bearing witness to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.

In Cambodia, 4 projects are currently implemented in Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap provinces:

  • SHARE project includes the three components:
  • Socio-Economic Inclusion (SEI) component: social accountability and ensuring the quality of service provision for addressing the needs of vulnerable people especially people with disabilities and women.
  • Mother and Child Health (MCH) component: improve the quality and accessibility of health services for people with disabilities, physical screening implementation, early detection, and referral and accessibility.
  • Rehabilitation (REHAB) component: increasing access to quality rehabilitation services and strengthening referral with the health system.
  • Accessibility project: Accessibility promotion for an Inclusive and Supportive Environment for All. The accessibility project promotes and disseminates the national accessibility guidelines, as well as disability inclusion
  • Demining (DARM) project: Supporting long-term development and risk management of the Cambodian Self Help Demining Organization.
  • Road Safety project: Estimated Road Crash generated Disability data collection from hospitals.

MCH Project Officer

Position Circumstances

Position Summary

Location: Phnom Penh with frequent travels to Kampong Cham and sometimes other provinces

Working Schedule: Full time (40 hours per week)

Contract Type: Fixed Duration Contract (FDC)

Expected starting date: 01 January 2022

Salary and Benefits Package: Salary rank is between $1178-$1250 based on experiences and other benefits are in accordance with HI’s remuneration policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Initial need assessment and design of the next phase of the MCH component
  • Manage and support the project team
  • Planning monitoring and evaluation: Conduct project reviews for MCH component to present the achievement, challenges, and recommendations of the project. Coordinate with MEAL officer to produce lesson learned/ case studies and parent satisfaction surveys.
  • Coordination & Communication: 1) Communicate on the MCH component to partners, authorities, and stakeholders when relevant; 2) lead the implementation of the activities of the national component to ensure that physical screening tools are integrated into midwifery and nursing training curricular and applied in the health center of other targeted provinces.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in midwife or nurse or public health or related
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management
  • At least 1 year working in management and supervision
  • Minimum 3 years working in related fields and team management
  • Good skills in reporting with analytical in English and Khmer
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong skill in innovation and creativity.
  • Good skills in problem/conflict resolution.
  • Good command of computer literacy (Microsoft Office: excel, word, etc.)
