We are looking for an active, responsible, and results-oriented Market Development Executive to support our business expansion in Cambodia.
The successful candidate will develop relationships with travel agencies, tour operators, corporate clients, schools,
organizations, and other potential business partners in Phnom Penh and other key areas of Cambodia.
This is a field-based position. The employee will regularly visit customers, introduce the company’s travel products and services, collect market information, maintain customer relationships, and generate new business opportunities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Frequent customer visits and field travel are required.
- Working hours follow company policy and Cambodian labour regulations.
- Occasional attendance at business events, exhibitions, networking activities, or meetings outside normal working hours may be required.
- Daily and weekly activity reports must be submitted.
PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
- The ideal candidate is not an office-only salesperson. We are seeking someone who enjoys meeting people, visiting customers, building relationships, finding new business opportunities, and developing the market.
- The candidate should be able to plan customer visits independently, communicate professionally with travel agencies, understand customer requirements, and follow up consistently until an inquiry or booking is generated.
- Customer Development
- Research and identify potential travel agencies, tour operators, corporate customers, schools, associations, and other business partners.
- Build and maintain an updated database of potential and existing customers.
- Contact potential customers by phone, email, Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other appropriate channels.
- Arrange meetings and visit customers regularly in Phnom Penh.
- Introduce the company, destinations, tour programs, travel services, and cooperation policies.
- Develop new B2B customers and generate qualified sales opportunities.
- Follow up with customers after meetings and maintain regular communication.
- Market Expansion
- Study the Cambodian outbound tourism market and identify new business opportunities.
- Collect information about customer demand, popular destinations, travel seasons, group sizes, budgets, and purchasing behavior.
- Identify travel agencies organizing outbound tours from Cambodia to Vietnam, Thailand, China, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other destinations.
- Recommend suitable travel products and sales strategies for the Cambodian market.
- Monitor competitors, market prices, promotional activities, and new tourism trends.
- Support the company in expanding its business network throughout Cambodia.
- Customer Visits and Relationship Management
- Prepare a weekly customer visit plan.
- Visit travel agencies and potential partners according to the approved schedule.
- Present company profiles, tour programs, rate sheets, brochures, and promotional materials.
- Build professional and long-term relationships with decision-makers.
- Record customer feedback, requirements, concerns, and future travel plans.
- Provide timely follow-up after every customer visit.
- Maintain good relationships with existing customers and encourage repeat business.
- Sales Support
- Receive customer inquiries and coordinate with the company’s sales and operations teams.
- Collect complete information about travel dates, destinations, group size, hotels, transport, meals, guides, and other services.
- Support the preparation and follow-up of quotations and tour proposals.
- Follow up on pending inquiries and encourage customers to confirm bookings.
- Assist with payment follow-up when necessary.
- Support customers before, during, and after the tour.
- Report customer complaints or service issues to management immediately.
- Reporting
- Submit daily reports on customer calls, meetings, visits, inquiries, and follow-up activities.
- Submit a weekly market development report.
- Maintain accurate customer records in the company’s CRM or reporting system.
- Report customer needs, competitor activities, market changes, and business opportunities.
- Provide photos, meeting notes, business cards, and other evidence of customer visits when required.
- KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Number of new potential customers added to the database.
- Number of customer calls, follow-up activities, customer visits, and face-to-face meetings.
- Number of qualified inquiries and new active travel agency partners.
- Number and value of confirmed bookings, revenue, and profit generated. Quality and accuracy of daily and weekly reports.
- Customer relationship quality and compliance with company procedures.
- INDICATIVE MONTHLY TARGETS
- Contact at least 100 potential customers.
- Visit at least 40-60 customers.
- Develop at least 10 qualified business opportunities.
- Generate new inquiries and confirmed bookings according to monthly company targets.
- Basic salary: approximately USD 500 per month, equivalent to around KHR 2,000,000
- Final salary depends on experience, skills, and qualifications
- Performance incentives or sales commissions may be provided according to company policy and achieved results
- Transportation or customer visit support may be provided according to company policy

- Khmer - Fluent is required
- English - Good is required
- Chinese - Simplified is preferred
- Vietnamese is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, sales, business development, or customer service is preferred.
- Existing relationships with travel agencies or tour operators in Cambodia are a strong advantage.
- Khmer fluency is required; working knowledge of English is required.
- Chinese, Vietnamese, or other foreign language skills are an advantage.
- Having a personal motorbike and valid driving licence is preferred.
- Good communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Able and willing to travel around Phnom Penh to visit customers regularly.
- Able to work independently and manage a daily customer visit schedule.
- Responsible, honest, proactive, disciplined, and results-oriented.
