M&E Assistant

Position Summary

Report to: Project Manager

Duration: Fixed Duration Contract-project based

Under the supervision of the PQL coordinator and project manager, the M&E Assistant will collaborate closely with the ActionAid team, project partners, relevant government agencies, private sector actors, and beneficiaries across the four coastal provinces. The role involves supporting the implementation and oversight of the research, M&E framework, tracking tools, and maintaining verification documents. It also entails managing data and knowledge, compiling data for donor reporting, strengthening partner capacities, conducting field monitoring activities, and other tasks as required by the project manager.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • General Support on M&E and Research
  • Assist the SCAEG project team in the overall M&E tasks
  • Support any action research, such as developing the identification of research tools, a research questionnaire, and developing a research workplan, and following up.
  • Support in updating data, data verification, and data compilation from the field as stipulated in the M&E tools regularly.
  • Following up with partners on the related tasks, such as report submission on time, completing the M&E tracking tools (ATT and Activity Register), and others.
  • Assist the SCAEG project team in any advocacy/campaign event platform, including translating documents (Khmer to English and vice versa), publication and design campaign message, logistic arrangement, and taking minutes.
  • Participate in the internal and external meetings, per request by the project manager.
  • Engaging in developing the project visibility and training manual.
  • Oversight and tracking data
  • Ensuring all the information and data are tracked into the M&E tracking tools.
  • Assist the PQL Coordinator in analyzing the progress data through Power BI and produce a presentation interpreting the analysis.
  • Assist the PQL coordinator in encoding the progress data into the OPSY System.
  • Knowledge management and M&E verified documents
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for MERL documents.
  • Document the case of the issues and best practices in the communities.
  • Supporting uploading all the project-related files into the CMS system
  • Maintain and store the project IEC materials, community profile, and training manuals, so on and so forth in drive “T”
  • Reporting
  • Assist the SCAEG project team to consolidate data for project SCAEG Narrative Progress Reports (quarterly and annually) in terms of progress update, success stories
  • Support the PQL coordinator in completing the M&E section of the donor report.
  • Learning and Capacity Building
  • Assist the project team and the PQL coordinator in organizing the capacity building training and workshop.
  • Assist the project team and the PQL coordinator in providing on-going coaching to the Partner on the M&E related works.
  • Conduct field capacity building support to partners, if necessary.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating various events such as POT meetings, and any learning/sharing platform online and off-line
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Degree in social sciences, community development, natural resource management, and statistics.
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Strong and effective communication and facilitation skills
  • Good knowledge of M&E process and tools, research tools, survey tools such as Power BI, Kobo Toolbox, Google Form, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good interpersonal skills and teamwork (ability to engage well with supervisor and colleagues)
  • Familiar with the Microsoft team, and SharePoint
  • Can type in both Khmer and English
  • At least 2 years of experience working in the field of M&E and research.
