Purpose of the role:
The Logistics and Procurement Assistant provides essential operational support to ensure the smooth implementation of APOPO’s mine action activities in Siem Reap and Kampong Chhnang provinces. The role focuses on procurement, asset management, fleet coordination, and warehouse management to ensure field teams have the equipment and supplies required to operate safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be required to travel frequently to Kampong Chhnang, Phnom Penh, and field locations. This position is physically demanding and may involve carrying, loading, and unloading heavy goods and equipment.
- Procurement and Supply Chain
- Assist with the procurement of goods and services in compliance with APOPO and donor regulations and procedures.
- Liaise with local vendors in Siem Reap and Kampong Chhnang to obtain quotations and ensure value for money.
- Assist in preparing purchase requests, comparative bid analyses, and purchase orders
- Verify that all delivered goods meet the required specifications in terms of quality and quantity
- Asset & Warehouse Management
- Maintain an updated Asset Register for the Siem Reap & Kampong Chhnang office and field camps.
- Tag newly acquired equipment and conduct regular physical inventory checks.
- Manage the warehouse/store to ensure items are safely stored and properly organized by category (e.g., PPE, technical tools, office supplies).
- Monitor stock levels and inform the Support Services Officer when supplies reach reorder levels.
- Fleet & Fuel Management
- Coordinate the daily movement of vehicles for field teams and office staff.
- Monitor vehicle logbooks to track mileage and fuel consumption.
- Administration Support
- Assist in arranging logistics for visitors, including accommodation and transportation.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for logistics-related documents such as invoices and waybills.
- Support the Support Services Officer in preparing monthly logistics reports.
- Provide hands-on administrative support to DTC operations.
- Support visiting staff, trainers, veterinarians, donors, and partners.

- English - Good
- Bachelor's Degree in Business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in logistics or administration, preferably within an international NGO environment for 1 to 3 years as a minimum
- Equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered.
- Languages: Proficiency in Khmer and a good working knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- License: A valid car driver’s license is a requirement.
- High level of integrity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a remote provincial setting.
