Equitable Cambodia (EC) is a Cambodian organization working to promote development which respects and protects human rights, sustainable natural resources, transparency and social justice in a democratic way. Equitable Cambodia was registered by the Ministry of Interior as a Cambodian national non-governmental organization in 2012.

EC is currently looking for a short term consultant to work with EC’s team to develop a Learning Tool. Consultant is expected to complete the assigned tasks with 12 working days and the duration of the contract will be a maximum of 6 weeks. Consultancy fee will be paid at a competitive rate based on qualifications and work experience, and negotiations between the parties.

Learning Tool Development Consultant

Position Summary

Area of Responsibilities :

The purpose of this consultancy is to work with the project teams to develop program specific learning tools. These tools will focus specifically on the connection between debt and land tenure security as distinct from financial literacy. It is expected that the consultancy will be conducted in two parts.

Initially, the consultant will establish what information needs to be distilled from desk and field research into the topic, will need to establish what kinds of learning tools will be most effective, participatory and how to create and implement use of these tools. These tools will then be tested with communities and learnings collected by project staff.

In the second phase the consultant will return to assist in integration of learnings from pilot implementation and to strengthen the tools in collaboration with project staff.

Deliverables

These deliverables will be determined by project staff in collaboration with the consultant based on research, best practice and community needs they can include but are not limited to:

  • Animated Documentary - Prepare script, storyboard for animated documentary and work with production company to achieve a final result
  • Graphic and narrative storytelling tool for group meetings
  • A final reflection statement and feedback
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Extensive knowledge and learning tool development, adult education and debt/financial literacy
  • Experience in Cambodian context, especially related to human rights and land rights.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Khmer and English (at least proficient), both oral and in writing. Be able to work with various actors on a multi-cultural team
  • Have strong understanding of local communities’ context
  • Proven ability to work with a team of researchers to ensure socially aware, high quality learning tools.
