Conservation International-Cambodia Program (CI) has worked in Cambodia since 2002. CI has multiple conservation projects in the Central Cardamom Mountains National Landscape, Tonle Sap Great Lake, Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary, and in the Veun Sai-Siem Pang National Park. CI works in close partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, other international conservation and development organizations, local non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

Conservation International (CI) has been working in the Veun Sai-Siem Pang National Park since 2009 in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment. Key activities have included law enforcement, biodiversity monitoring and livelihood strengthening, particularly eco-tourism development. CI is at the final stage of securing funding to develop a REDD+ Project for the Veun Sai-Siem Pang Landscape. With this in mind, Conservation International is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for the following position:

Position Summary

Please note that this position is contingent upon funding approval.

Type of Contract: Full-time employment, one year fixed term contract (renewable contingent on funding)

Reporting to: Law Enforcement Manager

Duty Station: Phnom Penh/Province (TBC)

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting the implementation of law enforcement and governance activities under the CI Cambodia’s Landscape Program. The Law Enforcement Coordinator will focus on the Veun Sai-Siem Pang National Park (VSSP-NP) and broader landscape with support to other landscapes and landscape teams as needed. The Law Enforcement Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating with Ministry of Environment (MoE), Provincial Department of Environment (PDOE), and other partners to ensure effective law enforcement in and management of the protected areas and habitats CI is trying to conserve. This will include supporting the training and oversight of rangers, patrol planning, supporting the PDOE/MoE in the management of and facilitating of meetings, supporting ranger use and implementation of SMART and other conservation technologies and other tasks related to the ongoing management and law enforcement needs and delivery of the landscape program projects.

Success in this role is dependent on an interest in law enforcement, spatial data, wildlife conservation, motivation to work for long periods in rural forest areas, and a strong willingness to learn new skills. The Law Enforcement Coordinator will report to the Law Enforcement Manager.
