Announcement Description

The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is a Cambodian non-for-profit research institution established in 1953, IPC is today a scientific research establishment declared of public utility placed under the high patronage of the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia and under the responsibility of the Institute Pasteur on the scientific and technical levels. The IPC is a member of the Pasteur Network, which brings together 33 institutes present on five continents. It shares the Pasteurian values and the ethical charter to which the Pasteur Institutes are bound. The IPC has more than 300 employees, including about 30 expatriates of 22 nationalities and includes 6 research units. It carries out research activities in health biology, public health and service activities (Medical Biology Laboratory, vaccinations and water and food analyses) and training.

Position Summary

Position Overview

The Laboratory Technicians will play a key role in carrying out essential laboratory operations within the Blood Biology Laboratory (Hematology, Biochemistry, Immuno-serology) at the Medical Biology Laboratory of the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge.

Recruitment conditions:

Contract: The initial contract is offered for 1 year (renewable)
Start Date: December 1, 2026

Duties & Responsibilities:

Receive, assess, process, store, and dispose of clinical samples according to established procedures.
Perform assigned laboratory examinations in blood biology sector accurately and within the required turnaround time, using appropriate procedures and equipment.
Perform internal quality control (IQC) and external quality assessment (EQA) activities and take appropriate action when results do not meet requirements.
Accurately record, review, and technically validate examination results using the laboratory Information System (LIS) before biological validation and reporting.
Monitor reagents, consumables, equipment, and work areas, and report any malfunction, nonconformity, or other quality issue.
Ensure compliance with laboratory quality management system, biosafety, confidentiality, impartiality, and professional requirements.
Maintain and develop professional knowledge and competency through training and continuing professional development.
Contribute to the implementation and continual improvement of the MBL Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 15189:2022.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and medical biologist.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent

Skills & Knowledge:

General & Technical Skills

Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
Familiar with the computer use (Word, Excel).
Language: Proficiency in Khmer and English and/or French

Soft Skills

Strong organizational and communication skills.
Comfortable working in a multicultural and scientific environment.
