Laboratory Technician

Position Summary

Working hours : : 45 hours per week

Location : Angkor Hospital for Children, Siem Reap

Angkor Hospital for children (AHC) is looking for a highly motivated Cambodian individual who can fulfil the currently vacant position of Laboratory Technician (01 position).

The Laboratory Technician will assist with conducting the laboratory tests from all departments of the hospital. He/she will also be responsible for keeping up to date on current standard medical laboratory practices.

AHC has zero-tolerance to Child Abuse, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and Sexual Harassment (SH).

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Main responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory tests as ordered by doctor in timely manner. Priority should be given to ER & ICU patients.
  • Draw blood from patient when needed, and try to minimize patient’s pain during blood draw. Explain patient or parents/ caretaker before drawing blood.
  • Should be able to work in all areas: Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Bank and Serology Units, even if specialize in one of the areas above.
  • Help with quality control.
  • Join the unit meeting organized by unit manager.
  • Work on night duty and weekend duty when scheduled to do so.

  • Follow- up consumption of reagents and equipment.
  • Help with stock movement reports (consumption report, receiving report, expired tests or reagents) if asked.
  • Help with monthly inventory of equipment and reagents.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergency call (night, weekend, holiday) when scheduled.
  • Control and Management
  • Keep the laboratory clean and in good order, assure hygiene, and follow to the infection control policy.
  • Check the temperature for each refrigerator and incubator when scheduled.
  • Assure that all reagents/equipment are properly labeled with good quality.
  • Inform Lab Manager urgently in case of broken equipment or run out of reagents
  • Educational responsibilities
  • Increase the skills and knowledge of the other laboratory staff through mentoring and cooperation.
  • Participate in lab team discussions of interesting or difficult issues or problems in the lab department.
  • Educate and explain to the patient’s family and to potential blood donors (including foreigners) about the safety and importance of blood donation.
  • Help to teach new staff how to follow the policies and procedures and perform the quality control.
  • Help to train Lab staff from other hospitals when they come to AHC for training.
  • Show foreign medical students interesting blood results if they ask and if you have time.

Languages:
  • Khmer - Good
  • English - Good
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Lab Tech Certificate or Degree from a recognized university.
  • Previous work experience in a laboratory is desirable.
  • Good written and spoken English and Khmer.
  • Willing to learn and improve knowledge and skills.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to work diligently with good attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment involving different departments and outside agencies

Cashier

Salary & benefits : Based on the employment contract

Angkor Hospital for children (AHC) is looking for a highly motivated Cambodian individual who can fulfil the currently vacant position of Cashier (01 position).

AHC has zero-tolerance to Child Abuse, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and Sexual Harassment (SH).

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Process data into the POS by accurately maintaining transactions of issuing invoices, voiding invoices, cash receipt, and cash refunds to customer.
  • Reconcile funds at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there are adequate funds available.
  • Receive and process payment by cash and other methods, ensuring the proper receipts of amount, and valid bill notes and other relevant support documents.
  • At the end of shifts, perform cash count and reconcile to the records in POS to ensure the correct cash balance, then transfer cash to the assigned team members.
  • Work in shift based on schedule assigned by the management
  • Communicate effectively with customer, by answering questions, and sharing relevant important information.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting & Finance or a related field, with at least completion of three years
Work History:
  • Minimum of relevant experience for 1 year is preferred
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality of information.

Senior Community Fundraising Officer

Job location : Angkor Hospital for Children, Siem Reap

Working hours : 40 hours per week

Angkor Hospital for children (AHC) is looking for a highly motivated Cambodian individual who can fulfil the currently vacant position of Senior Community Fundraising Officer (01 position).

The Community Fundraising team raises funds through specific events, supporter-led fundraisers, donation boxes collection, and the mass giving from local individuals. This team has a target to raise annually approximately $1M and to achieve such amount, the new role of Senior Community Fundraising Officer is in need. It will play an important role in the Community Fundraising team of three full-time staff members in building relationships with partners / sponsors, events and community fundraisers, corporates and individuals giving, and third-party platforms. With the direct report line to the Community Fundraising Manager, s/he is also responsible in supporting the appropriated tasked delegated by the Domestic Fundraising Director as required.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  •    Be one of team members to coordinate local supporter-led events or fundraisers as assigned.
  • Participate in the communications discussion about the supporter-led events/fundraiser proposal plus providing ideas, strategy, and process to make the event success.
  • Support the team to reach out to the existing and lapse supporter-led fundraisers for engaging to raise funds for AHC again.
  • Help provide the welcoming and touring to the supporter-led fundraisers when appropriated.
  • Maintaining supporters/donor relationship by working with Communications team to post the supporter-led event and its donation on social media, sending whishing card during special occasion, sending Annual Report, presenting the Certificate of Appreciation after donation presentation, and any other appropriated request support by the supporter/donor.
  • Add and update all donation and donor’s information into Salesforce.
  •   Provide the administrative and logistics support in the organization of the local events and campaign to raise funds of AHC.
  • Support the collection of donations from donation boxes when necessary.
  • Any other appropriated tasks delegated from Manager and the Department Head.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration – major in Management, Marketing, or related field.
Work History:
  • Working experiences in event’s organization, project management, business management, communications, public relations, external relations, or related area, which should be included finance and banking for 3 years
  • Working for non‐profit organization ‐ working for health care organization for 3 years is preferred
Skills & Knowledge:

  • Able to communicate confidently to donors and supporters.
  • A warm and outgoing personality, able to build great working relationships with people of all backgrounds and make them feel at ease. 
  • Confident to produce and understand written and spoken Khmer and English at a professional level.

  • Able to multi‐task – work on many projects simultaneously. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Power Point), Outlook, and comfortable using the internet.
