Khmer Teacher (2 Positions)
Working days: Monday to Friday
- Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow the school’s Rules, Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives, and Philosophy;
- Implement Khmer program, policies, procedures and strategies to ensure the quality excellences of schools’ Khmer programs;
- Monitor, evaluate and improve school curriculum, materials and teaching procedures, guidelines to be effectively implementation;
- Coordinate, observe and assessment for teachers’ teaching to improve and strengthen teaching quality;
- Manage classroom environment to support the concepts and environment of teaching and learning;
- Insure the quality of Khmer learning and teaching in AFIS;
- Provide Khmer professional training and teaching methodology to the teachers;
- Prepare teachers’ schedule to align with school operation and Khmer program;
- Manage social event, meeting, field trip, conduct student contest to promote value added service to the public and learning quality;
- Perform other tasks assign by Head of school/ Chairman;
- Assist the Head of school with allocating effective program specific resources;
- Prepare the course syllabus, curriculum, and timetable;
- Do counselling monthly with children’s parents on their studying result.
- Monthly/Quarterly report and annual report submitted to Head of school/ Chairman;
- Create opportunities for interaction with, and input from student’s families;
- Monitor student progress (collate data from teacher and program supervisor) ;
- Manage Khmer program through regular communication with Head of school/ Chairman;
- Conduct annual staff performance reviews and cooperate with the others Department to ensure the effectiveness of the tasks assigned;
- Monitor the student statistic, daily attendance, and their absentee.
- Assessment
- Ensures marking is based on WACE criteria, and is transparent, detailed, informative, and constructively critical so that the students may be able to reflect on and learn from their performance
- Uses a range of strategies and tools to assess student learning
- Sets and marks written work on a regular basis, and returns it as soon as possible
- Provides students with timely feedback to inform and improve their learning
- Ensures the writing of reports and entering of grades conform to the school policy
- Use appropriate formative and summative assessments to plan for the differing needs of learners in the class
- Assess and monitor student progress providing constructive feedback to ensure all students improve and succeed
- Communicate effectively with families regarding the curriculum and student development through portfolios, reports and conferences as required
- Pedagogy
- Apply the most up to date, research-based strategies to address the needs of diverse learners
- Create learning situations where skills, content and tasks are relevant, realistic and authentic
- Promote active learning and enquiry
- Use ICT to enhance learning to support collaboration, content creation and communication
- Use inclusive strategies so that all learners can access the curriculum and make progress
- Support learners to set their own goals and objectives
- Promote self-regulation and independent learning.
- Minimum Bachelor degree in education or Master in Education
- At least two years professional knowledge & experience
- Good problem-solving skill
- Ability to participate in and establish collaborative structures
- Deep understanding of students and their needs
- A proven ability to differentiate instruction and integrate learning
- Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Head of Khmer General Program (1 Position)
