My Village (MVi) is a Cambodian non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in November 2006. MVi operates in the northeastern provinces of Cambodia, specifically Mondulkiri and Stung Treng. Our development endeavors promote Indigenous People's rights to land and forestry, Natural Resource Management (NAM), Modern Agricultural Production and Market (MAP), Climate Change adaptation, Community Renewable Energy (CRE), and Social Accountability (SAC). Our mission is to empower local communities to become competent, recognized, and accountable institutions, ensuring better livelihoods and ownership of their resources.

MVi is currently implementing the NOREC Participants Exchange Program. As part of this program, staff from SEEP NGO in Bangladesh require training in the Khmer language to improve literacy and communication.

Position Summary

Timeline

  • Duration: 6 months.
  • Period: 01 July 2026 to 31 December 2026.
  • Schedule: One hour per day, 5 days per week.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Designing and delivering a structured Khmer language curriculum tailored for non-native speakers, with instruction provided in English.
  • Assessing the learners' current language proficiency and tracking their progress throughout the program.
  • Creating practical, daily-use vocabulary and conversation exercises relevant to the context of NGO work and community integration.
  • Facilitating an interactive learning environment that encourages oral practice and written comprehension
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent
  • English - Fluent
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Proven experience in teaching the Khmer language to foreign speakers.
  • High proficiency in both Khmer and English, with the ability to explain complex grammatical or cultural concepts in English.
  • Prior experience with cross-cultural training or NGO settings is an asset.
Soft Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and adaptable teaching style.
