Junior Private Sector Advisor

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and competent Junior Private Sector Advisor to join our team in Phnom Penh, contributing to the successful implementation of agricultural value chain development and private sector cooperation projects in Cambodia.

In this role, the advisor will collaborate closely with the project manager, the technical team and our partner companies and research institutes to enhance sustainable practices, support capacity development, and strengthen value addition in the Mango, Cashew and Potato value chains and beyond. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to contribute to sustainable development initiatives while building their expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, and agriculture based economic development.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the project partners from the public and private sector, this includes
  • Organize and facilitate regular project steering meetings with public and private partners
  • Organization of events, workshops, and training sessions, ensuring effective communication and outreach under close cooperation with the technical project team, as well as the public and private partners.
  • Monitoring and reporting
  • Support the technical staff in the conduction of their regular monitoring tasks concerning the implemented project activities
  • Contribute to setting up project base-, mid- and endline studies
  • Support the project manager in the regular reporting tasks to the commissioning party
  • PR and Communication
  • Creating engaging content, e.g., presentations, training materials, and farmer success stories for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and website updates.
  • Development of lessons learnt to be shared via selected digital and analogue project outlets
  • Contract management
  • Support with technical backstopping during the implementation of service contracts, local procurement and financing agreements with partners
  • Perform other project-related tasks ass assigned by the supervisor
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • University degree in economics, business, or a comparable qualification.
  • Internship or entry-level experience in stakeholder engagement or project coordination, ideally with public and private sector organizations.
  • Demonstrated good communication skills through interactions with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience assisting in data collection or analysis for reports (e.g., internships involving monitoring and evaluation or research projects).
  • Strong organizational skills demonstrated by tracking progress or compiling reports.
  • Experience in creating content such as presentations, reports, or articles, either professionally or as part of university coursework.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, ideally demonstrated through producing content for different audiences.
  • Familiarity with financial or administrative procedures, even if limited to assisting supervisors or colleagues.
  • Understanding basic project finance or budgeting through coursework or on-the-job experience.
