GIZ is a federally owned enterprise and is supporting the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.

Under its umbrella, the GIZ Green Cluster in Cambodia brings together a range of projects that promote sustainable agriculture and value chain development, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and private sector engagement. These efforts are guided by GIZ’s overarching mandate to foster sustainable development through technical cooperation and capacity development, empowering individuals, institutions, and systems to develop and implement their own solutions.

As part of its cooperation with the private sector, the Green Cluster implements several initiatives under the BMZ develoPPP programme. develoPPP is a funding instrument of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) that fosters development partnerships with private companies committed to creating social, environmental, and economic benefits in their sourcing regions and value chains.

Within this framework, GIZ Cambodia currently implements a portfolio of develoPPP projects across agricultural value chains. These include, the Better Rice Initiative Cambodia, the Responsible Sourcing Hub Cambodia and the project Improving Value Addition in the Conventional and Organic Mango Value Chain in Cambodia (MangoPPP).

The successful candidate will provide Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), PR & Communication support as well as general ad hoc support to the develoPPP components implemented by GIZ Cambodia. This includes supporting results monitoring and data management, consolidating progress and impact information, if required, developing communication and visibility materials, and ensuring coherent reporting and knowledge management across the develoPPP portfolio.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly dedicated and knowledgeable national candidate for the position of Junior Advisor sustainable agricultural value chains to support the project implementation based in Phnom Penh.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of develoPPP projects in the cashew, pepper, and rice value chains, including coordination with private sector partners, government counterparts, service providers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to technical and operational project activities, including organizing meetings, workshops, trainings, and field visits
  • Contribute to setting up project base-, mid- and endline studies
  • Maintain and regularly update project databases and track implementation progress
  • Contribute to data analysis, visualization, and interpretation to support evidence-based decision-making
  • Preparing communication materials and progress reports and assisting in the development of concepts, presentations, and partnership documents
  • Support the development and implementation of project and cluster communication and visibility activities by developing content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Fluent
  • Khmer - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Statistics, Communication, Public Relations, Design, Data Management, International Development, or a closely related field
Work History:
  • Monitoring and evaluation and data management for 1 to 2 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting is an asset
  • Understanding of social media platforms and content creation
  • Interest in public relations, media outreach, and event coordination
  • Knowledge of photography and photo and video editing skills is an advantage
  • Excellent command of English and Khmer (both written and spoken)
Soft Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, openness to feedback, and a high level of self-initiative and cultural sensitivity
  • Willingness to travel within Cambodia as required
